Zigmans at it again (still) .....HOT days in So Cal about now and locals tell me thats why only few of us grow indoors in the summer. My rooms are all set ... PLENTY of light and LOTS of heat, BUT fear not theres air cooled reflectors a 1st rate ventalation A/C and a dehumidifier. my RO filter is online and im using Dutch Masters complete line.
Yet alas with all that effort im still not getting that thick heavy resin sac filled chronic we all seek...i always thought that if i had the right stuff i could grow chronic from any seed but now i wonder. some say its the heat others say excessive humidity
Garden Gnome if your still there youve been with me since the beginning and now i really need your help (maybe i should sacrifice a bull or do you think a ram would be better??? and then theres that human thing...hmmmmmm). pics attached

How high did you have those lights off the tops of the plants?
Where you using super thrive in the flowering cycle?
Thats all I can think of right now.
Sorry to hear that.

Jdog...thank you for responding and your help is greatly apperciated.
a few months back i did have a problem with water that led to a toxic salt build-up at 1st i did think that maybe my lights were too close (i have always employed the "back of the hand" test even after this was ruled out i did raise the lights....then after employing the RO filter that problem went away - many thanks to Garden Gnome - see "HELP HYDRO GODS" in this forum).
in the veg cycle i did use NUTRIBOOST another kind of growth hormone but this was discontinued from the 7th week when DM potash was initiated per DM instructions and the photoperiod shortened to 12 hrs...the only other change was using a potash/silicone tank additive called PRO-GUARD and in the last 2 weeks NORTHERN LIGHTS FAT FLOWER this did get some results but with the DM series why would it be necessary to add anythingelse?
again many thanks if theres anythingelse you can think of please pass it on as the law here restricts the amount of medicinal cannabis and the # of plants i can have as a result i cant waste my time growing an inferior herb i must find a way to get that FAT THICK DENSE flower as its the ONLY thing that relives my pain...many thanks Jdog

More lights perhaps. How many watts you got going there?
A light leak can also affect your plants' ability to produce heavy dense tops.

hello stinky and thank you for the response
im sure lighting is not the issue (2k in a 9'x15' 2 600 and 2 400 ) lights are currently 1.5' - 2' over the canopy all are HORTILUX HPS lamps and im using ECONOCOOL air cooled fixtures. whats funny is my plants are like 3' - 4' tall and i still get good formation from top to bottom i just cant get that thick dense bud i need.
if theres anythingelse you can suggest please do as im in DIRE need.
many thanks

hello berny and good of you to respond
as far as i can tell its some kinda skunk strain. unfortunately i havent the nerve to order from one of the seed houses.....partly from fear of the feds (although growing for medicinal purposes is lawful in Cal - buying and receiving seeds from overseas brokers is still a federal offense - so im kinda doin the "pot luck" thing) and then theres the rip-off factor im not sure of who i can trust. lol if you know of someplace that is dependable by all means let me know......
recently ive had it whispered to me that heat stress can cause the "whispy" bud thing any ideas?????
oh boy, check out that buds

hmmm.
Too hot in there?
BRoken dark period often.
Too much nutes.
To much salt build up(Needs a flush regularly)
Light leaks
These are all causes of the spindley weed.
How high off your plants was your light?
You live in Cali,right?
Where?
Near Bakersfield?
Maybe I could get you a good dense strain like Purple Cream.

Is it pre mature?
How long did you flower it?
I live where it is 105 degrees everyday.
And I got my growroom down to 78.

thanks for the help Jdog
prior to a week ago the grow room was hot (maybe as high as 90-95 degrees) ive sinced installed a window a/c unit keeping the temp at 76 for the new crop that ive just started to flower. the system is closed (cooling lamps with air from another part of the house then exhausting to the outdoors) and im now starting to use CO2 (5ltrs per/min - 15 min every hour in a 9.5' x 15' room unsealed) a dehumidifier is also employed (ive emptied 6-8qts daily) to keep the humidity down to 60% (ill lower it in the 4th and 6th week down to 40%
broken dark period might be an issue as on more than "a few" occasions i have had to open the the zip up to the flowering area
on nutes ive always been maybe too paranoid about over-fertilizing sepecially when i was using just tap water for my hydro. ive since added a RO unit and am now running at exactly what DM indicates (building from 800 PPM to 1200 during veg then from 1200-1400PPM at flower iniation then decreasing after the 4th week down to 800 then stright water for the last 2 weeks with CLEAREX added to flush final week and this product is used every other tank change (done weekly)
ive always used the "back of the hand" to see if my lights were too low at present their like 1-2" above the canopy (raised them like 50% for this new cycle)
flowering was 8 weeks (i harvested when i saw that there were more red hairs than white - when there were more white than red these plants were left to finish like 2 more weeks)
Jdog please email me ill get you my # to call me or maybe you would prefer a VO prog like SKYPE?
i just hope you can help me as i am dedicated to growing the best thing i know of to treat my pain and maybe if i can grow enough i can help others as well. i was totally strung out on pain killers for like 6 years and unable to evne stand let alone walk until i started using cannabis to me it has truely been a (insert your preference here) send.
thank you for your concern
