Alright, so I found out that my computer has a few viruses. I was wondering if there as a free program out there that I can download that searches my hard drive and deletes any threats.

It seems like everything that I try to download are just these little trials that just let me see that there are viruses on my computer, but I have to get the full version to actually delete them, it seems.

Any help that anyone could give would be greatly appreciated!

sorry if this makes anyone mad (like billionfold) but AVG sucks, every virus ive ever gotten has outsmarted this piece of shit program (which is why it is free)....maybe i just get really bad virus's. but the one thing that has always done the job is trend micro's online free scan.

just go to www.trendmicro.com and follow the path to a free scan.

spybot search and destroy is an awesome one too, but it only does spyware and trojans, its hard to catch a virus with it. same thing with ad-aware.

I downloaded Spybot Search and Destroy and it cleaned up a lot of shit. Going to maybe try Adaware or something.

Well, I used a combination of Ad-Aware and Spybot Search and Destroy. I think that all the viruses and other nasties have been deleted. Thanks for the help!

I used all the programs listed above, and the best was AVG, until one day a Trojan from Bearshare, got in and Kicked the AVG,ADaware-se, and Spybot wouldn't even run...
I bought Spybouncer for 39.95...My old computer purrs most of the time...
Keep in mind that music and Picture files give you the greatest risk to catch a virus...peace

as a computer tech, I can assure you AVG Free is a quite good anti-virus program ... as all programs go, it MUST be updated frequently (I do it daily) to ensure protection ... I haven't gotten a virus in several years ... I would suggest you change your surfing habits ... porn, game, music, movie, any peer-to-peer sharing websites, are FULL of viruses ... :smokin:

Pop here

http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/

Click download v2.6.0 (about a second to download)

Run the program when finished. :D

This is not good for all viruses, but as it aims mainly at the most recent variants and removes/destroys them it is still very useful.

I use AVG free, never had a virus get through yet!
