hi...im in soil and the pH keeps goin up...I flushed today, if that dosent fix it what can I do to lower it a bit?

Calcium will make your soil less acidic.

i just checked this out at overgrow and apparently sawdust and peat moss were both given as ph lowerers.

use the same pH adjustments you would use in hydroponics.
Soil is really not that different when its not full of bacteria and microorganisms.
Use phosphoric acid, same as a hydro set-ups pH down.
If youre being organic etc, phospshoric acid exists in nature. Some micro organisms make it so dont worry.
Try coco coir. it has the stability and insulating properties of soil, while feeding it as hydro, we get all the benefits from accurate nutrition.
Its the easiest way to go ive ever tried and ive fucked around with a lot of ways.
coco grow
coco bloom 2 part mixes
a pk- phosphorus and potassium bloom additive.
pH down.
and thats it. good strain, 8oz-1lb per 400w HPS.
Dont fool yourselves. soil is only soil if it is alive. you basically have potting mix. coco is a good version of potting mix.
calcium, lime etc. trouble. its too easy to do handwatered hydro in coco fibre.

You can buy calcium tablets at some plant nurserys if you cant find any there a grocery strore will have them but make sure they are pure calcium not mixed with a bunch of other shit.

fill your watering can with water a day or two before watering then add your plant food check the ppm the check the ph if needed add more food for a higher ppm but a lower ph then add water to lower the ppm this should work

there is a powder that i seen work thats 30%calcium/3%sulfur use it in your soil and/or like really mix it well in boiled water ,let it cool and mix well before applying ............and you might have to boil all your water if you want to grow better.

kinda like a toilet..
you pour a lot of water in the top and let all the crap 'float' out the bottom..
kinda like a rinse cycle for soil

Yeah, it rinses most of the salts theat tend to build up in soil, thus making it less acidic. But flushing would make his soil push even more the towards the alkalinic part of the scale. So flushing would actually be making the problem worser.

ok you can lowr ph with
lime
carefull not to use to much it will go to low
but flushing will work if done right
you must let it drian out and wash away the salts,

1 is highly acidic, 8 & 9 is neutral 14 is highly alkalinic. Lime I believe, will lower the pH, thus it more acidic. Rememeber, the ideal pH for soil is a pH of 7. Everyone on this thread is giving advice on how to make the soil more alkalinic, which is worsening the problem. I have no intentions of offending anyone on this thread, I am merely trying to help out CrystalBaller.

just get a bottle of PH down or PH up if the Ph level happens to go down. PH levels between 6.5 and 7 seven being the neutral level,, you should not let your plants get above 7.5 for any length of time and the others are right if you want to keep it neutral the fine dolomite lime will bring the balance back to a nutural level...it they should be ok if you act now,,best of luck

meaure the ph before pouring it in and measure it coming out
