You should be able to create a new user account while this member name still exists. If this one were under a ban, it would be a red flag if you were to try to set up a new account....cause for denial.

cant you just ask a mod or the site's admin to change your name? thats all I did on a different forum I posted on. That way you can keep your post count and you dont have to go through the effort of making a new account

Sorry but we don't do that. With over 6,000 active members that could turn into a full time job on its own. Good thought though!
