hey guys i just read a thread some1 mentioned they cut the lower bud sites to help the top 1s get fatter... is this true? if so i was thinkin bout cutin all the bud sites at thew botoom of my plant coz last grow they streached to 3ft n the bottom halfs was a bit crap.. anyways happy smokin all:rasta:
Well i think its a bad idea. As soon as you cut the plant, wether its leaves or buds the plant will stop flowering, and concentrate on repairing the damage.
In the long run it'll give the plant more energy for the main cola, but it'll stunt the growth. I'd leave it.

is this carbon filter an intake fan? if so i would think your tent would eventualy 'pop'.
i personally turn everything off when its dark time. i close everything, cover it all up, and forget about it.
I'm taking it that your tent is outside. i wouldnt be too worried about smell.

hey there no my tent is in my house.... the carbon filter ive never used all i know is it is a noraml carbonfilter that extracts the smell from the room through the pipe and becoz of the carbon the air is purified i payed £160 for it... all i want to know is what do i do when its dark time if the grow is very stinky and needs the carbon extracter on do i need to make another hole so air comes back in? i dont want to do that as it may interupt the night period.. what do all u guys do when lights r off and u need ur carbon filter on???? i mean if the carbon filter is suckin the air out of the tent with my fan still runnin inside over the plants then surely i could close the tent at night...

i think you need to go get anther fan and have it sucking air INTO the tent while your carbon filter is sucking out. Then you can close the tent and leave it always closed.

install the fan on a side of the tent that doesn't see light.
If nessesary, build a small box out of card board around the outside of the tent where the fan with holes in the bottom to block out light.

Although cutting off your lower branches causes some stress, it isnt enough to cause concern. Your plant WILL be able to focus its energy on the remaining top of th the plant. I grow inside so i never leave branches on the lower part of the plant because that part of the plant recieves minimal light, congests airflow, and invites unwanted pest/problems. I keep my bottoms well manicured for excellent ventilation. "Ask Ed" covers this topic in greater detail than i have posted. I know people who will leave bottom growth on. They do this because they take the smaller c grade buds, along with the leaf, and make bubble hash out of it. Smaller buds and leaf are also great when you use Butane to extract the THC. Very Very Strong. It melts like wax when heated, and one hit pretty much gets you where you want to go.

That pic is a good idea.
But you would need some kind of switch.
So it could filter the air every few hours for about 5 minutes.
For the humidity and fresh air .
If you attatched a splitter and had one side open and the other side closed most the time.
Then you use dampers to open and close on a timer.
This very extensive but very effective.
