ok so the tallest is 13 in.. med is 11, and the smallest is 9 in...they've been growing for about a month...so is this bad or..good? I just want to clear that up, see how they should be doing and all at their age. They have plenty of leafiez and I think they're all females..I just want to see if they should be bigger or what. just want the erm..'dl' thx:pimp:

That's really not enough info to tell. ie, are you growing in dirt? The plants will grow slower in dirt. How's your lighting? Plants grow slower in poor light. How's your nutes. Plants grow slower without the proper chemicals. What are your temps? Plants grow slower in colder temps and rot in hot ones. What variety are you growing. Some grow taller than others.

As an example to compare, I am growing AK-47 in hydro and use cool tubes so I can get the lights right in the plants. My plants are about 2 feet tall at 30 days, some a little bigger. However I am not counting the time they spent getting roots in the cloner. If I am supposed to count that, then make it about 40 days, or 18 inches at 30 days.

Variables, man. Too many.

gah..well, I'm not certain what kind they are..I just have a, what I like to call 'shit box' full of stems and seeds...pulled out some seeds from there, and just..planted them in a deep pot, yeah I'm using top soil of some sort. The lighting, well..I'm pretty positive that isn't so great. You see, I kind of just threw myself into this. Never grown before, so I was just sort of experimenting with these. At about a month old, they're 13, 11, and 9 inches high. the lighting got from home depot, its a 'infrared heat lamp' 250w...that good, or bad? and chemicals? where can I get these? I just want to make sure they make it to actually getting some buds..but then again, I AM just experimenting with these. ^.^; thanks for the info btw

that light does not sound RIGHT.. it actually sounds BAD..

you can get CFL's for 5-10 dollars a piece.. get the 150 watt cfls.. they sell them at home depot...

Any light will veg., MH is best but requires ventilation.
For flower, in my opinion and that of most others, there is but one choice: HPS.
Fluoros work if you use a shitload of them, but for the same price as a shitload you can have HID lights.

Ohhh the lamp is bad way too much heat for the output.
Also do you have more than one plant per pot?
The roots will get entangled if you do and will be very difficult to transplant.

I know.. for that being very ..NOT good lighting, I got a good 14, 12 1/2, and 10 inches on my babies. This IS me just experimenting though. mannn if I get something actually worth getting from this, well...that would be pretty nice.:D

really, a heat-lamp should do next to nothing for any plant, I am undoubitebly curious as to what it looks like. :stoned:

Like I said, anything will work for veg, but how much weed do you want? If you want the max for your efforts you need to veg with MH and Bloom with HPS. The wrong light may fool some people into thinking their plants are growing big and fast, when in reality it is making them stretch, and they will not produce the maximum yield possible. The plants are trying to compinsate for crappy lighting by opening up so the light can get into all the branches, and growing real tall to get up and over whatever is keeping the proper light from them. (In this case... light.)
