I was brosing for some seeds next year i might buy, and this guy in hamiltion ontario, Canada is marketting what he clains is a plant with THREE NODES at every nodular intersection. If you don't get it heres the pic:
[attachment=o73172]

Can you believe he's asking 10k Canadian funds for ten seeds? Is this true or some sort of hoax? this is what the guy wrote, I personally have no interest in breaking the bank for some cool looking plant.

New genetics that are being introduced to the marijuana world. Triplenode grows with triple nodes on each nodular intersection from seedling. These genetics have been selectively bred to enhance this new mutation into the next generation. Triple nodular growth will result in much denser bud production and more budding sites. Triple the bud. 33% more bud. 33% more hash. 33% more oil. Very rare genetics and never seen before. As rare as the main attraction in every zoo around the world (white panda, albino Tiger etc..). Genetic mutation that has been harnessed and selectively bred to enhance and stabilize the gene (phenotype). Genetically enginered and modified naturally. Increase your profits 33% more. World wide discovery done here in the good old "Steel City" (Hamilton). From Hamilton's breeding laboratory and now available to the world.
First topping will result in triple the tops, more than what we are all used to. Once you go Triplenode you'll never go back. The sky is the limit (Ricky Tavares). Good Luck !!

i just noticed he says "Triple the bud. 33% more bud." How does that make sence triple the bud would be 300%. and 33% more bud is one third more bud, he needs to go back to school.

It's possible, more than likely it's true.

Sounds like a rip-off to me. I don't have a problem with breeding a plant with three branches per node (of course...what happens when the plant matures and goes to an alternating phylotaxy...the number always goes to 1 branch per node)...nonetheless, whatever increase might be enjoyed cannot justify the price of $10000 Canadian for 10 seeds....$1,000 per seed...does not make up for the increase of bud....

It's interesting in a freak-show sort of way, but not something worth wasting money on.

Also I think they should be arguing for a 50% increase in bud. since all plants are 2-branch/node plants (i.e. 100%), the addition of another node (one half of 100%) would be 150% of usual.

It seems like they also don't know the difference between genotype and phenotype.

.

AWWW you got to it beofre me! Plus the way the bud grows, at the terminus of a main stem, what's to say having 1 extra LEAF per node is going to do anything other than give the plant some more sunlight-gathering power?

ANyway that mutation isn't exactly rare. If you grow long enough you will more than likely find a plant like that.

It's cool but not really a huge leap forward.

Oh, and don't you think he would show pics of
1) a more mature plant, plus one in flower
2) a more professional setup than a freaking plastic cup with a 3 week old plant on his desk
3) some finished product to prove this triple yield?

what a joker. I should have saved the last 3-leaf seedling I sprouted and sold it like it was made of freaking gold.

Yeah I got some magic beanstalk pot seeds, I'll charge..... lol sounds like a scam, even if the plant has 3 nodes, jeez I'd sell bagseed all day at 10k a pop!

LOL...it only takes one person out there with too much money to make the sale of a century...:pimp:

That picture used in the rickyseeds site I think made its rounds at OG last year.

Theres a whole field of hemp behind my house, it just grows there and doesn't do shit, but there was a small section of the field where all the plants only had 3 leaves...
