Patience. Just keep them moist and out of direct light.

I personally wouldn't. It's easier to take care of them if they are in small pots to start. You can cluster them under the light more efficiently.

3-gals are good for flowering though, hang on to them.

So what kind of pots should I start out with? in the future i want to have a hydro package going, im still way new to growing so is there a place where i can get info (if not pictures) on how to make a hydro package?

If you plan on going hydro right away, then start your seeds in rockwool plugs.

If not, 6-pack nursery flats are fine, or expandable peat pellets, but careful not to overwater those.

For hydro pics, go to the hydro forum, silly! :p

What kind of system would you recommend im trying to get my plants about 4ft - 5ft tall, and what kind of light do you think I should use Hps or Mh? and how many watts do you think i will need i have a space 2x3x5.

well you will need both...MH are used for vegging...they emit a higher Kelvin temperature(5000 on up.)..the plant absorbs this type of light better during the heavy growth stage......HPS has a lower Kelvin..(3000 or below)..this bulb is used for the flowering period...

i would go with 400w but if you plan on expanding your grow go ahead and get 1000w

That is the lighting knowledge i needed ty very much : ) Now what kind of hydroponics setup would best benifit my plants, i want something pretty cheap for right now, seeing as this is my first grow, and something that is pretty basic, see statement above, so what would be your input?

i started my seedlings in just your plain ol styrofoam cups...then once they were about 2-3 inches tall...i transplanted them into bigger pots....just a suggestion...

Okay if you're super super cheap you can build a flood and drain system for like nothing.

You need a tray, a pond pump, a timer, an air stone with air pump,a reservoir, some tubing, and a drill.

For a medium you are going to want Hydroton. For plant support you will be growing in rockwool blocks.

I'm trying to upload a diagram.

The trick is to adjust the drain hole size and the pump flow so it fills faster than it drains. Time how long it takes to wet the medium, then set the timer that the pump is plugged into for that time.

When the pump turns off, it will slowly drain out the hole, which if you're going super cheap, you'll have to check daily to ensure it isn't clogged.

I'm not getting into a big discussion of hydro here because I'm not an expert and anyway it's all on the internet if you look it up.

I built this setup for like $40 us, plus the cost of the medium, lights, and ferts.

It works well but is really bare bones.

Okay, diagram to come when my pice of crap camera decides to work again.
