New two chamber set up in the works!

It is going to have to rooms, one flower one veg. The flo room will have four plants in it on an ebb and flow system. They will be lit by a 400 watt hps bulb.

The veg room will be fitted with florecents. How many will i need?

1. The veg room is going to have clones and mothers in it. I am wondering do i need a hydro set up for this room to and if so what would be the best. Is it better to have mothers in hydro or soil? Can I transplant the clones after rooting into the rockwool? How long can I veg the clones in the rockwool cubes?

2. The second part is with ventilation. I have had to soil grows in hear before and they turned out fine but the room is an old whine cellar with no windows in a basement and has the door shut all the time. Its about 6 by 14 but only 4 feet of the 14 is used in one edge. I have read up on fans but like i said there no windows, is it easy to drill outside and install a vent? Where else can i pump the air. Their is a air vent on the cealing, would that ventilate air well enough?

If you need pictures just tell me what of.

You will want as much as you can get as close to the plants as possible.

If you're going to go hydro, do it all the way thru, including mothers. Hydro will perform better (faster growth).

Can I transplant the clones after rooting into the rockwool?

Sure, as long as you don't hurt the roots, just moisten the rockwool and put it around the roots.

How long can I veg the clones in the rockwool cubes?

Just leave them in the cubes and add to the media as they grow. The cubes should stay in even when flowering.

2. The second part is with ventilation. Well, you have a ceiling, floor and four walls. What is on the other side of all of those things? Ventilation is movement of air in and out. You want to bring fresh air in and the old air out. You will have to consider what materials the walls are made of. For example a concrete wall is going to be a lot tougher to cut a hole into than drywall. You intake vent should be twice the size of your outlet.

Where else can i pump the air. Their is a air vent on the cealing, would that ventilate air well enough?

You would have to determine if the air vent in the ceiling is supply or an exhaust. If it's a supply you might be able to use it to 'supply' fresh air. If its a return vent, it would go thru your heating/ac system and could smell up the house. In either case it would probably screw up your central heating system. I wouldn't advise it.
