In your opinion, what is the most emotional and mind bending song you know.
Personally anything from Pink Floyd is incredible, this song for example. :pimp:

I think trying to identify the "best song ever" is futile ..... Comfortably Numb is a great song, but even Floyd fans might think that it wasn't even their best song.
Anyway, I'm willing to play ..... my choice is "Stairway to Heaven" .

I'm agreeing with you on all that you said. As far as one song "taking me on a ride", it has to be Stairway. The build-up is so moving, I personally go along for the ride every time. There are so many others out there, though. It's like trying to pick a favorite strain of weed! I love them all!

Halley - Kites Are Slow Downers
I can't say it's the best song, there's too much good stuff out there, but it's the most minding-bending song I ever heard.

The sound quality is poor, so it's harder to appreciate the fullness of the sound.

"Hit Me Baby One More Time" by Britney Spears. The emotional depth, the message of hope for humanity, the searing critique of the social problems of our day, and the original rhythms all touch me on so many levels.
No wait, I forgot, she's a dumb whore who can't sing for shit.

Seriously though, I think Eugène Poitier came up with the perfect lyrics for a song when he wrote L'Internationale back in 1870. Gotta love the classics. ;)
Debout les damnés de la terre !
Debout les forçats de la faim !
La raison tonne en son cratère,
C'est l'éruption de la fin.
Du passé, faisons table rase,
Foule esclave debout ! debout !
Le monde va changer de base :
Nous ne sommes rien, soyons tout !
Refrain
C'est la lutte finale,
Groupons-nous, et demain
L'Internationale,
Sera le genre humain.
C'est la lutte finale,
Groupons-nous, et demain
L'Internationale,
Sera le genre humain.
Il n'est pas de sauveurs suprêmes,
Ni dieu, ni César, ni tribun,
Producteurs, sauvons-nous nous-mêmes !
Décrétons le salut commun !
Pour que le voleur rende gorge,
Pour tirer l'esprit du cachot,
Soufflons nous-mêmes notre forge,
Battons le fer quand il est chaud !
(refrain)
L'Ã?tat comprime et la loi triche,
L'impôt saigne le malheureux ;
(refrain)
Hideux dans leur apothéose,
Les rois de la mine et du rail
Ont-ils jamais fait autre chose
Que dévaliser le travail ?
Dans les coffres-forts de la bande,
Ce qu'il a créé s'est fondu,
En décrétant qu'on le lui rende,
Le peuple ne veut que son dû.
(refrain)
(refrain)
Ouvriers, paysans, nous sommes
Le grand parti des travailleurs ;
La terre n'appartient qu'aux hommes,
L'oisif ira loger ailleurs.
Combien de nos chairs se repaissent !
Mais si les corbeaux, les vautours,
Un de ces matins disparaissent,
Le soleil brillera toujours !
