Living in Az. for 15 years I remember those well.

My favorite place to be during the season was up in the mountains around showlow where the storms roll in almost daily.

Lightning, sage smell after the rain, totally cool.

Here are a few pictures of dust storms in my area. Sometimes it just happens in the middle of the day. The sky turns yellow and it starts to get dark and then sand and dust just fly everywhere!:p
