What free world?
A free world exists only withing the minds of people who are not aware that there is no total freedom in waking life.
Organised religion has controlled the peoples in the 'free world' since long before we were all born.
To answer your question, we all need to focus more energy on simple Earth worship or it will be the end of the road for Mother Earth and all physical beings who depend upon her for survival.

peace.

It would have to be after the Kali-Yuga(Dark Age) and the great purging of man. After that all bets are off. Depends on who survives I guess.

I'm going to say solipsism.

That no one else matters, except you.

Interesting Beach, Do they consider a table to have tableness? Or would that be a stretch? I guess animism is out.
Think I'll stick with the Flat Earth society.

That'd work.

I'm not even sure what their theory on the Earth would be. I guess, they'd believe in nothing. Maybe, God.

Capitalism... and then, once the richest 1% have no where else to go for cheap labor, another round of Communism, only this time it prevails, until an asteroid hits the earth and everyone dies, except Jesus, who develops Nomex sandals, thus avoiding the blistering discomfort of a scorched earth.

This too:

Though the phenomenalist would perhaps resist putting it this way, the upshot is that my mind and mental states, including my immediate experience, is the only mind and the only collection of mental states that genuinely exist, with claims that are apparently about other minds amounting only to further descriptions of this one mind and its experiences. This is the view known as solipsism. It seems clearly to be an absurd consequence, thus yielding a really decisive objection, if one were still needed, to phenomenalism.

i used to believe in myself until i died.

Can you relate? :stoned:

yeah there is no free world, there never will be. enless all humans die. it's science. XP
But if any religion were to take this world over, I'd prefer it to be buddhism. It's a beautiful way of thinking and looking at things.
you do not dwell in the past, fear the future...you concentrate your mind in the present time. You do not believe or disbelieve any other religion..you just..KNOW about them

To just come from that other thread, then to read this post first, I was blown away by that, above. It's eery that you say that because blah, blah, blah...blah,blah, blah (etc.) closet-genius. Sitting on a basement floor, a girl I've never seen before, my first go-around at college.

I'm sorry, I figured that not everyone would wanna hear that ramblin'.

That makes perfect sense to me....I remember once when I was in my sophomore year of high school and my mom got involved with some type of strange BDSM internet sex ring...

BUT on the bright side...I virtually have no contact with my family....

Aak! I was hoping we were past the theocracy stage..but we're probably not eh? Greymatter nailed it--capitalism most likely, or corporatism. Where can I get me some Nomex sandels?

Yea I also feel that...
I don't think there will ever be a time that only one religion exists. We'll probably be killing eachother over religion until the end.

It doesnt matter......

How about this. If there was a "global religion" would this change your religious stance?

if a religion were to "take over" it would have to be a combination of every religion currently on the planet.

the religions of the world would come together and unite long before people refused to believe in their own religion and accept another one.

people seem to think of the future as though it were far away. the future is now. if you can imagine it you can make it reality. technology is at that point.

but it stands to reason: technology is always at the point, is it not? invention is only the assimilation of current knowledge. no one can possibly invent something that they cant think of first, and no one can think of something that they dont think is possible at any given time.

belief demonstrates knowledge because if you believe something is possible, then it is. you are the god of your own world.

take for example:

someone says they want to do something "physically impossible", such as breathe underwater. so they build a submarine and they are thus able to achieve the impossible

Doesn't belief have more to do with faith...?

I don't have belief in the laws of motion, but, like you, I have knowledge and skill about equal and opposite reactions?

Binzhoubum

I try not to believe in anything other than the fact that I don't want to believe in anything...

Is that wrong?

But if you break this all down logically, everything we believe is based on faith in some respect.

Theories, rules, and laws can only be proven to be 99.9% true in virtue of the fact that time is not infinite and we cannot logically test every hypothesis an infinite number of times.

Everything we feel is also based on faith too...feelings are completely subjective in that they completely rely on various factors and variables which cannot be controlled or made standard in all human beings. So we are only believing that which we have already been conditioned in some way or another to have faith in as correct or true...
