source is a newer version, its got better graphics and stuff. con zero is 1.6 and graphics arnt as good, but i rekon its better and old school. dunno what sierra half-life and anthology is.

These three are all the same game. Built on a 9 yr old game engine.
The community is full of cheaters.

Counterstrike: Source is what you want. It is part of the Half-Life 2 game.

dude just get 1.6. Source is kinda has a arcadey feel and the hit boxes are all screwy " although i must say, it is more realistic ".

let me put it in prospective:

CS:

pros:
lots of players
low system requirments
lots of diffrent servers
simple yet effective graphics

cons:
a few cheaters
"simple" is another way of saying bland

CS:CZ:

pros:

Improved graphics
low system requiments
new levels, plus old ones remade
Get CS as well
Bots for practice

cons:

smaller community
grapics are better but still not great
Bots play like a 8 year old on drugs or a hacker

CS:S:

Pros:

diffrent graphic engine, much easier on the eyes
remade levels
resonable community
buy HL2 silver package get CS:S, HL2 plus lost coast/DM, DOD:S
Bots

Cons:

Silver pack is $80+ USD
Still some cheaters
Bots could not shoot the sky
some dislike the feel of the new engine

I personally play CS:S but many say CS is better. If you have a beefy PC and are one for graphics, get CS:S. if you like the idea of the old school feel go for CS.

just regular Sierra Counter strike is what you want dood! dont listen to these noobs, trust me, my brothers are both Cal i, and i play every day, REGULAR CS 1.6 IS WHAT YOU WANT! you will not regret it!

for all the Old schoolers ( like my self ) you will enjoy CS 1.6. That is because it is more familiar feeling. CS S i think is for the newer CS crowd, those that are more intrested in playing " next Gen " games. CS S has better graphics, Better physics. CS 1.6 is Still used in Leagues and tournaments. The community and server list is HUGE. And IMO, is just more fun.

NO!!!!! dont get this one. I made that mistake u think your getting the full versions but your not u HAVE to be on steam at all time to play on single player and multiplayer. I REPEAT DO NOT GET THIS ONE, i personally think CS:CZ is awsome

Go to steam and get Cs: Source. It's got a killer engine and is wicked good fun.

Beware, you with lose large swathes of your life to this game as it, like others, is wicked good.
