Look at the countries that have legalized the drugs that the USA has made illegal. Most, if not all, of the countries that have legalized drugs do not have anywhere near the problem with people that are addicted to drugs as the USA does, percentage wise.
Drugs that are legally available as prescriptions often have the same lethal effects as the illegal drugs. This is even when the FDA makes them legal, and claims that they are safe for consumption.
I know, while amsterdam still has a hard drug addict problem its gone down and down and carries on going down, and soft drug addicts are going down too.
Marijuana needs a noble and broad based "cause" for a legalization movement to begin. I think people are getting curious about marijuana, but they can't get passed the notion that people just want the government to allow drugs to run rampant in neighborhoods.
Even though you and I know how absurd that is.

Unless your just an idiot, marijuana addiction doesnt lead to your life going down hill. With other drugs that really are addicting and cost way more than marijuana it would fuck up some ones life. So if the U.S. only legalizes one thing I hope it's marijuana, nothing would feel better than me being able to walk around and smoke marijuana without some one trying to take my to jail for it.

Don't count on it being fully legalized. I'd be satisfied with "Smoke it at home" legalization.
Well hell, the only thing that a smoke at home legalization would do is get you out of trouble if your havin a party and it just so happens to police come by to warn about noise and smells marijuana lol. Other than that people do that already anyways without people even knowing about it.

Marijuana is not addictive, its all in the person. It has no ingredient, ensyme or whatever that has any addictive effect.
