hey man,
never used the miracle grow, and i am a newb.... but i have heard negative things about miracle grow products in a bunch of different boards, and documents on cultivation..
some cheap nutes you can get from WalMart is that Alaska Fish Emulsion 5-1-1, heard good things about that stuff... run on search on yahoo for alaska fish emulsion....
you can get a small bottle of some good stuff from a hydro shop for 8 bucks more, will last you your entire grow and then some..

just my thoughts...

To put it simple NO!

Shultz cactus food is closer for this plant then most other cheep plant food. Fish shit is good for vegetation and is not a full NPK nutrient. It's just an suplement.

what about shultz 10-15-10 plant food plus? it lists tomatoes on the box and from my understanding from what i have read, tomatoes are the closest in characteristics to MJ, so if u cant get specific MJ food, then tomatoe food would b the best sub. Is there ne truth in this or have i been misinformed? thnx for the input....

When I was ironing things out my first few months of growing I was using Schultz from WalMArt. I was using the orchid formula, I think. Can't remember...
There is a 'Bloom Plus' formula available. I've never noticed the catus one, but trust Zandor if he says it's closest.

I love the alaska fish fertilizer and was psyched to see them selling it.

Other goodies you will find at WalMart:

They now carry SuperThrive. It's another supplement, not a stand-alone fertilizer.

Serenade- This is an organic -whoo hoo! - fungicide. It's a strain of bacillus subtilis, and treats certain fungal diseases

Fungicide 3- It's a neem oil product that is effective against mites, some types of fungus, and many insects. It's not the best; Green Light brand is much nicer, and OMRI listed, buyt hey what the heck if you want to be cheap... Neem oil is like the best stuff ever, just be prepared for the stank. Phee-ew.

My very best recommendation though if you don't have a hydro shop nearby and don't buy stuff online, check out your local farmer's supply, like Agway. Our local one carries a full line of organic supplements and soils.

I use 5-5-10 tomato feed and my Lows seem to like it. Ideally, you want something high in N for veg (the first number), then something high in P for flowering (the second number)

^^^ I think thats right anyway.
