Throughout my short yet interesting life of experimenting with substances, I have come up with a belief that I will stand by forever. Alcohol became popular in America and it was banned. Prohibition made its mark but the real people who loved it made it happen. No matter what they weren't gonna let the police or even the god damn government stand it their way of the desire to booze it up.
And that brings me to the present. How long until our government realizes that weed posts to threat to anyone who partakes in the culture and more so anyone who blazes it up. How long until people realize that in 2004, 42,639 people died on our Nation's roadways. Thirty-nine percent of these deaths were alcohol-related, and in the history of our great United States, not one marijuana realted death can be found. How long until they realize that 105,000 people die from alcohol every fuckin year, when even more people light it up every day and are nothing but happier and more peaceful?!
 How long my friends?! I'm tired of waiting!!!

Just as long as our goverments stance as pot being a "gateway drug" to harder drugs, It'll never be legalized. It'll NEVER be legalized...atleast not in our life time.
Considering all the anti-pot adds and propaganda that the US has shoved down our throats. I thinkin' they're not wanting to legalize the plant.
Face it, Even though Alcohol is more damaging and intoxication. Most people feel Marijuana is the harder "drug" because guess what there goverment told them so.... :(

The real reason is because the government cant make money off of marijuana. If they legalized it what would be happening? People would be growing and selling marijuana them selves and making money off of it. But the government couldnt do that. I mean they could but still they would be missing all the money that everyone else is making.
I mean those anti-pot commericials are stupid. Because like for me I look at these commericials and see how they make you become and I realize that I am a user and none of that shit has ever happened to me. Almost everyone knows a marijuana user, so thats why people should use their brain and when they see those commericials look at the person you know who does it. They arent lazy all day are they? I'm not lazy and I use it :D. And I dont forget to pick up people because "i'm on pot" :O.

I think that if more people knew the truth about the drug, and didnt listen to all of those government sponsored advertisement it would be much different. But some people are too stuborn, and cant possibly belive that the government would make up things like that.
Marijuana make most people more relaxed. It relieves the clutter and tension after a hard days work or school. It mellows you out and makes you more relaxed. It heightens the imagination and improves creativity. If you have a problem with anger, Pot is usually helps reduce it.
I dont even really see pot as a drug..i mean it in the same catigory as ACID, MUSROOMS, and X...I mean come on people...
Thats just my 2 cents.

Dude me and you are alike in thinking. I say that also, marijuana isnt a drug, it's a plant. Just has glands which are psychoactive xD. But yeah man it probably never will be legalized but I'm not sad about it. I'm a user not a dealer, call me crazy but if I grew I'd give away, I'd only charge ass-holes I dont like but yeah man, they can keep it illegal for all I care, it isnt gonna stop me, I mean they might as well, if the shit is getting to even middle schoolers it's obvious it's not that hard to find so they cant hide it as well as they can guns so they might as well legalize it xD.
oh man, it'd be so easy for the government to make money off of it it's not funny. even the legalised med use states charge for the priviledge! it'd be very easy to set up an id system for bud buyers so age limits can be controled better and to ensure the feds get their money. many other ways to 'tax' the use too...and y'all just have to figure there will be a 21 and over age limit when they do wake up along with heavier fines and sentences for those who break the regulations.
But that's what I don't understand. How can Alcohol and Tobacco not be considered gate-way drugs? Clearly both have astronomically higher potentials to be addictive.
I think the time is ripening for marijuana legalization. People are learning after years of propaganda that marijuana is nowhere NEAR as bad as it was reported. Remember when the government pushed those "marijuana funds terrorism" ads? That got blasted off the air so fast it wasn't even funny. Except it was =)
The marijuana movement needs a "noble" cause to fuel it. As it stands people just think we want the government to provide us with drugs, when all we really want is to stop being cuffed, court-fined, and criminally charged for giggling and eating Doritos.

And the worst, WORST thing about the "gateway drug" theory is that it's entirely based on marijuana being illegal in the first place.
See, since pot is illegal you end up spending time dealing with guys who make a personal business out of selling it... And they frequently deal in other, more harmful drugs. I bet I'm not the only one who's had to deal with offers for harder stuff (coke and xanax mainly) when I'm just trying to find a bit of good herb.
The government will always have a "gateway drug" argument while they keep marijuana illegal, because you're forced to deal with unregulated, unrestricted black market dealers. And that increases the chances that young people will try the harder stuff just out of curiousity and because someone is offering.
If marijuana was legal, it would be like buying a pack of cigarettes at the corner store... when was the last time the guy behind the counter offered you a gram of coke or a handful of benzos to go with your cigarettes?

I kinda like the propoganda commercials. I mean, every time I see a squished up little girl or a flat girl, it instantly makes me wanna toke up. ;)

Pot wins hands down. Used to be a heavy drinker, but now its gotten too damn expensive. Luckily weed is cheap here, and at least it doesn't leave you with a hangover.
