my first grow - comments please!

this is my first grow , i'm really pleased with them but .... I know nothing ... so any comments appreciated

for all you clever people - yes they are different strains - i have 1 bubblegum 1 northern lights and 3 white widow

thanx my ego is growing by the minute, haven't finished yet am about 6 weeks in now, will try and get some more pics tomorrow and post - just getting panicky - things never seem to go right for me and needed reasuring , so thanx guys- have been busy reading abuot trichomes cos i don't want to blow it now - have tried to keep things as simple as possible (less for me to mess up) but feel i'm getting close now so worrying like maddon't want to harvest too soon and don't want to leave it too late lol - also wondering whether to take of the top colas when i think they're ready to give the lower smaller ones a chance to grow more or should i just chop the whole plant.

I'd take the whole plant, if not, you will over ripen the bottom buds, some people I know let the bottom one's grow out more, but IMO the quality isn't as good. Good grow btw, nice job.

i usally trim the lower branches that would become popcorn buds so that all energy is put into the colas, but in the past i have harvested the top and let the bottom ones ripen a week or so

thanx.. thats what i thought .... BUT i was thinking if i keep the first (tops)for me was going to spread the rest arround family and friends so kinda trying to weigh up whether the drop in quality would balance out with the increased (?) yield. how much does over rippening affect things - i mean would they still be worth smoking or would they be a waste. i'm kinda figuring he first cuts would be enough for me til my next grow is ready and the rest would still be good enough to give away

see i thought about that but was afraid if i trimmed them i might stress the plants. Once the colas are ready and i've got the best off , i'm kinda less worried about that cos if it goes tits up then i'm alright jack lol (ok that sounds selfish but .....)

Also i s'pose the extra week ... would that week be better spent starting the next crop.
i'm kinda getting the idea that giving the lower ones that extra week isn't really going to make much difference to the yield (?)

and i thought cannabis was a a stress buster - i haven't been this worried since i thought the missus wanted to get married!!!!!!!!

Do it about a week before you throw it into flower, it makes the plant look more neat too, trim what doesnt get penetrated...

so i'm too late for this lot then, will try it on my next lot tho.
if the smoke is half as good as the fun i've had growing these i'm gonna be sooooo chuffed. i started this to try and save money but now don't care i'm having so much fun growing and am looking forward to trying all these ideas you guys are giving. And to think i thought horticulture was boring - i used to laugh at my old man talking to his roses but i can understand it now!:)

ok ... whilst on the subject of nutes i gather i should stop adding a week or two before chopping them, should i just stop or should i drain and replace the water with fresh (ph'ed)
