Water
1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.
2. 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so
weak that it is often mistaken for hunger.
3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down ones metabolism as much as 3%.
4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied at the University of Washington
5.Lack of water - the No.1 trigger of daytime fatigue.
6. Preliminary research indicates that 8- 10 glasses of water a day could significantly decrease back & joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.
7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short- term memory, trouble with basic maths and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page
8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79% and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.
And now for the properties of COKE
1. In many states (in the USA) the highway patrol carries two gallons of coke in their trucks to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.
2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of coke and it will be gone in two days
3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet and then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous China.
4. To clean a rust covered bumper clean with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminium foil dipped in Coca-Cola.
5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.
6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Applying a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.
The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid.
ItspH is 2.8 It will dissolve a nail in about 4 days.
Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the increase in osteoporosis.
2 To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate)the commercial truck must use the Hazardous material place cards reserved for Highly corrosive materials.
Remeber folks if your pee is less than crystal clear - you are dehydrated!

Yah, I've seen those coke vs water facts before. Just blows my mind how bad coke is for you when it comes down to it.
I have a soda every now and then, but for the most part, water and Gatorade for me. That nasty carbonation just got to me after a while.

Coke is revolting. It shocks me how many people dont drink water.
My mum is a nurse and told me a while ago if your pee is yellow, you are badly dehydrated - it should be 100% clear! Thats aways stuck in my head

Hey, beautiful Sensi!!! Welcome back, sweetie! You haven't been online enough lately. I got your email funny yesterday--the office humour thing.
Glad you're back. And I'm glad you reminded me to go drink some water. I'm thirsty, which is supposed to be another bad sign.
How are you doing? Did your sore throat finally go away? You were feeling pretty bad last time I talked to you.

Lol, that is interesting.
It's also funny that you have pee on your mind a lot throughout the day... :D
Glad to see you back, too.

Ok, now, Ms. Ride, we want the Scottish numbers.
3. even MILD DEHYDRATION can be detrimental to the health of your children's goldfish
Now, that, I did not know. :smokin:
But, really, number three was a new one.

Le*Nature's ICE WATER is pretty good if you're looking for bottled water (sodium free/minerals added)...never heard of it before, but i just randomly brought some(20 FL oz. 24 pack-$2.99) and i think it kicks aquafina, poland springs, etc ass..

Another question for you, sweet Sensi!
Is the Chinese baby in your avatar shot a baby you know personally??? Because I think I love him. He's so cute. Those folds in his baby fat also make him bear a resemblance to a Shar-pei, on of those Chinese wrinkled doggies.

Hey, you forgot that coke has carbonation. Carbonation = kidney stones. Kidney stones for men = the worse pain known to man. Kinda like having a baby through your penis:thumbsup:
That's one of the main reasons i've stopped drinkin soda.
p.s. peanuts give you kidney stones too... not sure why.
Thanks for the facts.

Hmm, I just finished a Cherry Coke. These facts were very surprising and interesting, but probably won't change how much Coke I drink, just think I'll drink some more water throughout the day :)

Very interesting info. Never have liked soda. Once in awhile a Sprite or 7up. Water, tea and real fruit juices are about all I drink.:stoned:

I read that a while ago interesting stuff. I cut out all soda. I definitly feel better without it. If you are trying to maintain your weight cut out all trans fat, and partially hydrogenated foods. I make believe that fast food restaurants don't exist, same with most junk food.:( I sometimes crave it but never give in. I stay the same weight that way

I never buy soda, but I do like it. That's why I don't bring it around.
I had a kidney stone once, too. From not drinking enough water, they said. It happened after I'd been bad sick after a ruptured appendix and was still getting well.
The stone hurt as bad as the ruptured appendix had just a couple of weeks earlier. And worse than having a baby. Which I didn't much feel since I had my son by Caesarean.

Fanta was developed by the Coca-Cola industries during WWII so the American citizens watching the first 'televised war' wouldn't see the Nazis quenching their thirst from American provided goods.
I dunno someone told me that, and figured you'd like to know too!

I would TOTALLY be drinking water if we had ice. We dont' have ice holders anymore as my mom got pissed one night because no one ever filled them up, and she threw them away. Sooo now I just drink 7up or Sprite when we have it, which is hardly ever. I don't like our water here because it tastes like mtal, I think, and since we don't have any ice...that just makes it worse. So I only drink when i'm DYYING of thirst now.
Which is all of a sudden.....

Good. With that additude I hope you get a kidney stone.
If soda can take paint off a car... imagine what it does to your kidney.
Water is so healthy, too bad no one notices you only live once.
Why not add salt to every meal so you can have a heart attack by 30?

As a bodybuilder I can't emphasize enough on the importance of water. Here are some of the reasons why: (some may have already been listed)
Water is essential to nearly all of the body's processes. Dehydration will cause the body to slow it's metabolism down in order to conserve water levels.
Water is a thermogenic. This means that it is used by the body to convert fat into glycogen. Dehydration will cause this process to slow down, thus reducing the amount of fat being burned by the body.
Water is used by the body as a cooling agent (sweating.) A severe lack of water can cause a heat stroke as the body has no way of cooling itself.
The body is made up of 75% water. I think this point is clear enough.
Water is used primarily by the kidneys to flush toxins out the body. Dehydration can cause a build-up of these toxins, one of the less serious results being kidney-stones.
And this one's my favourite. Water is used to regulate the viscosity and therefore pressure of the blood. It is also used as a transport for THC!

water fan here.......unsweeted tea with meals.........i like to watch my pee if its dark, i drink more water....i like my pee to be clear. if you need to drink more water ,, just carry a water bottle around, before you know it you drank it all. get off the sodas, i think even the diet ones are bad.
