I'm a 40 year old woman have decided to join this site because my husband and I enjoy the herb very much, and I'm curious about tons of stuff concerning marijuana. I have about a billion questions about houseplants, as I have never had any before. The one thing that intimidates me the most about it is, from what I have read, I know that females are good and males are bad(unless you need seeds), but I have not seen any definitive answers about how to tell them apart.

You can't tell the male plants from the female plants until they've been in flowering for about a week. Then as they start to flower, they will either develop pistils (female) or sacks (male).
