Hi all. I am a new grower, have some questions for the experts here.
I took the easy way out, growing with a PC Planter from Sunlight Sheds. In essence, it's a 2 plant SOG grow in a small, PC Computer size grow box.
I am in week 7, started 12/12 at a little over 2.5 weeks (per the instructions to flower at 3-4 inches). Currently, the attched shows the progress of one of my girls (Northern Lights, feminized seeds). Sorry if the pics are unclear, but best my digital can do.
My question is, the "whispy hairs" are there, but pretty minimal. Is this where I should be? Also, I understood a SOG grow was faster, it seems this could be 12 weeks plus when all is said and done. That doesn't seem to be right.
Ask any additional info you may need, I would love the advice.
Thanks!

I think there are a few variables which you need to be aware of and possibly correct if proving detrimental. First off you should state the the strain as maturation periods vary greatly and are geneticlly pre-determined. If it is a sativa strain then it is not uncommon to have longer maturation period which might explain the expression of your plants. If it is a short maturing strain then you need to look into other variables that are proving detrimental.
One thing to check is obviously if your getting proper requirements met. If so then you need to look into whether you darnkess is being interupted. One short episode of interuption is not detrimental, but a constant, repetitive interuption is problematic and causes stress to the plant. Theoretically this can/tends to induce hermaphrodism. Basically these aformentioned variables cover the gammet as to why your plants are at the stage that they are. Any other info would be helpful.

Northern Lights is the strain. 12/12 is not being compromised at all.
As for nutrients, I amtrying not to over do it, so I am using a "bloom" organic nute.

sog cannot shorten the flowering time. that is genetic. your are right where you should be with the amount of time you've been in flower. watch out for feminized seeds tho. tend to hermie, you'll be cutting out bananna dicks everyday last cpl of weeks!

SOG cuts the time to finish yes.
The idea is to grow many small plants close together so you grow from clones and only veg them for about 3 weeks. When you grow from seeds they need at least 30 day's to 45 day's to develop the antioxidants needed for a quality grow.
When you clone they inhered the age of the mother so you can veg them for less of a time and have smaller plants.
The time to finish flower is set by the genetics of the strain. Growing SOG you cut down on the veg time and that is how you grow faster. Now if you have enhanced CO² you can cut the flower time by 2 weeks on average.

Can you please direct me to the literature that provides this info? What anitioxidants are you refering to? I have been growing for almost 18 years and I have never had a problem flowering my seedlings when grown in the veg state for 3 weeks. I have never done a caparative analysis though so I cannot support nor dispute.
