my first grow from bagseed. two weeks into flowering but with no sex signs yet... still patiently waiting.. this is just a test run before i get my real seeds... any advice or insults:p welcome

ohh yeah i guess i over nuted a little bit but i flushed immediatly and cut back on the nutes and they look fine again.. i also topped it accidentally after its 3rd node but seems ok

ohh yeah i 4got to mention that its only like 5 and a half weeks old... and only growing under a daylight 42 watt cfl @ 6500 kelvin and a soft 50 watter thats at 3500 kelvin both with shop light reflectors..

about how much bud do you think i can expect from this? i know i started the flowering phase pretty early... and since i expected it to be a male .. any bud will be good enough... i cant get a close up of the hairs cuz my cam sux.. its day 39 flowering 17 from seed

thanx keeko, well i kinda topped it by accident i was bending the stems and twisting them to stregthen them up and it snapped off... but it seemed to work out better that way... and reading these forums gave me the idea to lst which also worked pretty good.. thanx for ur comment man and good luck with ur second grow!!:rasta:

patience, patience, patience. some take up to ninety days to finish, some sixty, some even less, its all strain dependent. Clones dont take as long, but its still a long process. your still looking good.:thumbsup:

It could also need more lumens(lights) or like Cactus said, it could be the strain of the plant and it might require a longer flowering time.

yeah the nutes im giving it are miracle grow tomato food which is 18-18-21..at half strength on every third feeding... like water- water- nutes-water -water........ but should i get something higher in k and p and lower in n or is this fine?

If you are in flowering stage you should get new nutes just for blooming which is higher in Potassium or whatever. Walmart has sum for about $5, but I do have to say that your plant looks healthy. It is a sativa right? Is this Ur first bagseed grow and you got a female right away? I have been reading and asking alot of questions and people seem to answer them if you ask the question in the right way. I had 2 plants from bag seed and they were in the 2 wk of flowering and I discover pollen sacks developing so I cut um down and dried them out. Smoke it if you got it. I got 5 more going right now in veg.

yeah this is my first grow all together...and yes lu ckily my first plant was a female.... but i ordered some seeds (ice,chrystal,silver pearl, sweet tooth) and i wanted to experement with bagseed that i had laying around so i can make my mistakes on sumthing that doesnt matter that much to me.. and when i get those seeds going im gonna have a little veg chamber with cfl's and a flowering closet with a 250 watt hps. but thanx for the nute info weed4life.... and thanx for the comment 4x5!

i picked up another cfl and sum new nutes today! now i got two 42 watt softs @2700 and one 30 watt daylight @6500... and the nutes i just got are bloom boost stuff with 10-52-10 (is this ok for flowering??) from waly world like a couple people suggested.. thanx everyone for your help its keeping my lil girl alive and kicking!!

hey notorious, just a thought, but if you added maybe two more cfls at the bottom of your plant you could get better light coverage/better yeild.....that is if you can take a little more heat and have the space for it....good luck and great grow

No problem, yes i have seen pictures of peoples plants after they spilled some nutes on the leaves and it looked very similar to yours. Maybe you could give me pointers and stuff that you did because, for a first plant it looks real fine :D. :thumbsup:

sure i will deff give you some pointers and what i did although some of what i did is probably frowned upon..
1st- i germinated her right in a jiffy puck soaked in distilled water..
after her roots started coming through the bottom i put her in a 5 inch pot.

2nd- on her fourth node i broke it off by accident.. ( i was trying to bend and twist to strenghten her up) but it worked just as well as topping..

3rd- when the new growth started getting bigger i tied it down.( it was only 2 at first) then the other nodes got more light and two more big branches started formingso i tied them down also.. i also moved her into her 10" pot after i felt she was big enough to move..

4th- right after her fourth node incedent i began feeding her.. i used 21-18-18 food and she started to take off.. after 3 weeks of vegging.. i noticed she had alternating nodes so i began to flower her with another food which was 18-18- 21( i thought that would work) but i got advice from other people on this forum and they said i needed something with a higher k value.. so in the last two weeks i have been using 10-52-10 bloom burst food. and i have always used half stregth nutes as of this point.. and that shoud bring you up to date...but if you have any more questions ill try to answer them as best as i can

how about soil? what type did you use? pearlite, vermiculite? I have had my eye on miracle gro organic potting soil. Or just some basic potting soil with no nutes in it. Thing is though whatever i buy has to be able to be bought at lowes, hdepot, places like that. We have no hydro shops here and nurseries dont sell any of the soils i have read about here and i really cant see myself ordering huge bags of soil from the internet. I just live in a lame place i guess. :D

ohh yeah i forgot about the soil... umm it was expert gardeners all purpose potting soil with nutes to feed for 3 months .11-.04 -.08 it have vermiculite mixed in with it but i also added some dolomite lime into my soil..
haha i have no hydro shops or anything around where i live either i did all my plant shopping at the nearest walmart.. the lights, shop reflectors, nutes, soil, pots, and thats about it were all bought in walmart!

my fear has become a reality the discoloration and death of the leaves has spread to the upper leaves.... with that knowledge i flushed her with 3 gallons of R/O water now shes a bit wilty but she will come out of this... i hope i flushed her in time... heres some more pics!

I have the same problem but I got out of it by folliar feeding with real light solution and using the same super light solution in the soil.

You should also invest in a commercial grade hydroponic fertilizer. You will need three (Grow, flower and micro) but you get to completely dial in what you need for each feed.

Also keep in mind that plants take in nutrients very quickly thru there leaves (Underside spraying is best) so if you keep flushing you can still give them the nutrients they need while the soil PH recovers.

I like the general hydroponics kit. It is for hydroponics but work great for soil too and will be better than these store bought brands some people use.

You know...after all the crap Flourescent lighting takes, I was interested to see how she was flowering. You may have inspired me to start a new indoor grow with all the flourescent lighting I used to start my outdoor babies (four 4 foot long 40 watt tubes, four 30 watt CFL) after seeing those perty 'ol buds!!

As long as you flushed her good I think you will be fine with the leaves...shell recover and finish gloriously, I JUST KNOW IT!! :dance:

Hey notorious, She has sure put on quite a bit of buds for a CFL flower. How many watt CFLs were you using and how many? I thnk with the colas there you're going to average 50-60 gram dry. Good luck mate keep up the hardwork.

I will post a few pics... nothing really to see, just a couple sprouts about 1 inch tall. This is my first attempt btw. What does it mean when the leaves are pointing up? Stretching for light? Well from the pic you can see how close the lights are, about 3/4 to 1 inch away. Also see the purplish stem? All i have been doing is wetting the top of the soil with distilled water with a very slight bit of superthrive. Just so everyone knows, the soil is Miracle-Gro organic potting soil with with some perlite and a layer of red lava rocks on the bottom ala latewood :thumbsup: Right now i have 2 100watt equivilent bulbs 6500k right on top the plants and a 4 ft shop light above that with 2 6500k bulbs @3050 lumens each. I have another 4ft shop fixture but not using it yet. As you can see this is inside a big steriltie tub lined with emergency blanket :D. I plant to change this in the near future. Any tips would be appreciated. :)

yeah sure.. when you plants hit their 5th node you top it.. and then two more main colas will come out... to top it just cut off the new groth at the top .. it can also be used as a clone!... umm and you can top it as many times as you want... i also did alot of lst (low stress training) to give the lower sights some light... juat tie off sum branches to another sturdy object so the branh is parallel to the ground and the plant will turn the budsight towards the light.. pretty cool...any more questions just holla at me

Ok, first pic is both plants side by side. As you can see one is doing better than the other one. Really not sure whats going on. They were both planted on Jul. 14th. Now maybe im expecting results too fast but, shouldnt these plants be bigger? The plant that is smaller is starting to droop and i turning and almost neon green color bordering on yellow. The one that is bigger is yellowing on the tips of only two of the blade type leaves. I use a moisture meter to tell when the soil gets dry and when its dry, i saturate the pots till the water runs out the bottom. Plain water ph is about 6.7 or 6.8, no nutesi even put one of those ph probes from lowes in the soil and its telling me the soil is 6.8 to 7.0. They are under 2 100w equvilent bulbs @6500k and one 150w equvilent bulb @ about 2700K with a small fan oscillating over them. Temp stays around 75 to 80. 18/6 schedule. One last thing, the soil is Miracle-gro organic soil with extra perlite i addedand a layer of red lava rocks on bottom. Im thinking maybe even the organic miracle-gro is shit.

im not sure man.. it seems like everything your doing is right... with the moisture meter that kinda rules out overwatering.. ph meter rules out a low or high ph.. you say no nutes so no nute burn... unless does that soil there in have any nutes in it? and you say your temps are between 75 and 80 so theres no heat stress.. thats weird?? and after the second week the plants do pick up in the growth department .. atleast mine did ... it looked runty until 2 weeks then took off... but maybe its just the superthrive working its way out of the tiny plant... just kep doing whhat your doing and im sure it will come out of it!

I think you are probably right. These two plants of mine i planted in Miracle-Gro organic soil both look pretty pathetic for the age that they are. I will never again use anything with the name Miracle-Gro on the label. Stinkyattic here told me to use composted cow manure mixed with perlite and vermiculite, i may try that recipie. Or i might try to make a soilless mix with the 3.8 cf bale of sphagum peat i was given.

Thought maybe you could tell me what the problem here might be. Maybe a magnesium issue? The leaves also seem to be curling slightly like a canoe shape. The plant will be 3 weeks old friday, still seems kinda small for a 3 week old plant. I plan on transplanting to a bigger pot very soon. I have things i bought from lowes that might be ok to try and make a soil mix with. I have composted cow manure, mushroom compost, blood meal, bone meal, epsom salts, garden lime sphagum peat moss, perlite, vermiculite and red lava rocks. Any suggestions for a good mix of this stuff would be very appreciated :D

legion- im not to sure about all the different nute defs and excessive amounts but since you say the leaves are curling up like a canoe it sounds like they might be under sum heat stress...

Whats the temps in the room. Sometimes when a plant is at too cold of a temp it will turn a purplish color, or it could just be a trait of the strain.

ok well, i transplanted them, im keeping my fingers crossed. Actually man these plants have been in the same 6" pots they started it :( Just moved them up in some bigger pots, i think 2 or 3 gallon, not sure. I hope the mix i made wont kill them, i took a soil mix from someone and planted them in it

5 parts canadian peat
3 parts perlite
2 parts mushroom compost
1 tbps blood meal
2 tbs bone meal
2 tbsp dolomite lime per gallon of mix

yeah its just regular potting soil i picked up from home depot...i mixed in about 30% pearlite... and a tablespoon of dolomite lime per gallon of mixture...and jus regular poland spring water for it.. i am gonna start her on nutes soon.

Are you ready to graduate to real lights yet? You'd be amazed by the difference. What color were the hairs and trichomes on the plant. IMO, it looked like you might have harvested a bit early. I usually wait until about 85 percent od the hairs and triches have turned amber. Usually the little buds will explode on you if you wait a bit longer and can double your yield by being patient. Git yerself a nice 400 watt HID light and grow like a pro.:thumbsup: You got some skills, and you could implement your skills to provide yourself with a nice stash for pretty cheap. Btw, i got rid of the burned up plant and kept the other one. Im not sure whats wrong with it but it sure is a runt. This plant will be 1 month old friday :( Its only like mayby 4 or 5 inches tall. All the new growths look great but the bottom leaves are yellow. Im thinking perhaps these seeds i have are not suited for indoor use or im just royally fudging everything. May try again from scratch.

i topped it right after its 4th node.... and i only topped it once and it gave me four new main colas both times i have done it so far.. as for the lights they are 42 watters which is equal to 150 watts and 2700 lumenz and i got four of em so thats about 10,000 lumens all together..im guessing its ok untill i can save up enough to buy a 250 hps

and it took me about four weeks to get it to look liek that.. they grow pretty fast with the cfls.. im pretty amazed at what they can do ...

OK, heres the story. I do plumbing for a living... i got called out to a house to change two shower/tub faucets. The customer was a woman who's name did not sound familiar. I went to the house and when the door opened, a guy answered the door that i used to play music with like over 10 years ago, and even then i really didnt know him all that well. Anyway, he didnt recognize me so i told him who i was,he remembered me and that was that. Im in his master bedroom closet changing the tub faucets because thats where the access panels were. The whole time im in there im noticing these dead leafs on the floor of the closet. I pic a few of them up and look closer. You guessed it... they were MJ leaf trimmings. I noticed stacks of hightimes mags in the closet as well, reflective material and such. So i start thinking, this guy grows. Well anyways after i was done with my job and was recieving the payment, i decided to start a little small talk. I asked him if he still played music and such and he told me yes. I told him that i gave up on music and found a new hobby. I said i was into "indoor gardening" with a little wink and said "know what i mean?" He said, "Oh yeah?" He just nodded a little.. paused and said "Let me show you what i got". Dude started showing me all this grow stuff... showing me photos of his 8 lbs grow he did. Now heres the part that i was psyched about, he wants to sell me his 1000 watt HID MH/HPS setup for $150. And to top it off... this dude gave me, repeat GAVE me a packet of about 20 seeds. At first i was like yeah thanks thinking they were just some local schwag bagseeds. He told me they were Haze X skunk. Is this a legit strain? And the coup de grace, he also GAVE me a bag of foxfarm ocean forest and bottles of GH three part nutes!! :dance: I was so fucking excited i could not believe it. He told me that his wife was expecting soon and was getting rid of stuff... but he wants to sell me the light. I really want to buy it too. So there it is, my little story. Maybe not so big of a deal, but for me it was really somthing. Getting seeds of this kind blew my mind because all i could ever get was schwag/bagseeds. I will try another grow soon with these new seeds and the soil/nutes i was given. thanks for listening, later man!!

This setup that the guy sold me looks like a homemade type deal but at least it works :) Need to wear sunblock and shades around it! The casing looks like either aluminum or galvanized metal, and the reflector is quite large and is made up of 4 panels of what may be stainless steel or aluminum, screwed together. Notorious, i was curious, but do you live in the states? And if so, how do you get your seeds?

yeah i live in the states.... on my first grow i just had a bag seed laying around and decided to try it out... but after that was succesfull i ordered sum seeds from marijuana-seeds.nl i sent cash and succesfully got my seeds
i was pretty impressed

I ckecked out that site, looks pretty good man. I really would like to get some other seeds beside the haze skunk seeds i was already given. Then who knows if these seeds that guy gave me are legit haze skunk seeds. I guess i will have to plant to find out. I tell you one thing though, the seeds he gave me look totally different than any other seeds i have seen. They all look very good and are the same color/size with some sorta zebra or tiger type striping on them.

thanx alot legion... i was searching around all morning and was unable to find one with pictures... i think my plant has a magnesium def.. but heres a couple pics if anyone can tell me for sure whats wrong. first pic is of a troubled leaf.. i has alot of tiny little brown spots...

Ive been wanting to try California Orange bud or Orange bud... not sure if they are the same? Anyone know? White widow, blueberry, bubblegum, strawberry cough, mango/papaya (read they are the same thing) Grapefruit and probably a few others i cant think of right now. See, round where i live there is no such thing as kine bud, sinemilla premium weed whatever you wanna call it. All we have here is dry, seed laden, broken off from a compressed brick, paranoia/anxiety inducing schwag. So you can see im really wanting to get ahold of some good strain seeds :)

-I really don't know why people are so scared to get the seeds shiped to their house, I ordered and got my beans shiped to my house. If the cops were breaking down doors arresting people for buying seeds overseas, you would see this all over the news stations and radios. I haven't heard anything. The only problem I had was worrying if I would really get the seeds and if the seed companies got my money (I mailed cash). The AI was an easy grower, I just let her do her thing man. I finally choped her today :p , Man she smells so damn good. I just wanted to bite a nug a two LOL. She also took the ferts really well, I feed her 12-54-6 fert about 2 times a week LOl and not any signs of nut burn at all. It was just smooth sailing :thumbsup:, here is a piC of the main cola, my batteries are kinda dead so I had to rush the shot ...

just some more pictures...i lsted the mother/clone... and also had my first attempt at fimming... the flowering girl is gonna be at two weeks in flowering tomorrow...
now my clone has pistils appearing too and its been in 18/6 the whole time... i dont know if this is normal or not but its ok with me...i cant wait to try sum ice...
