Ok so I'll try to make this as short as possible. I'm 22 and have had depression/anxiety problems my whole life. It runs in the family and I've been hospitalized a couple times from it. It comes and goes from time to time, I'll go through phases pretty much. I take a few different meds for it as well. Anyways, it hadn't been too bad for the past couple years until about 6 months ago when alchohol seemed to trigger it. I never was a big drinker, but I had this week long period where I was drinking like every night. After that, I noticed my depression get very bad and it lasted for like a month or 2. I was always sad as fuck and everything made me want to throw up. So after that, I stopped drinking. Fast forward to a couple weeks ago when I moved into a house with a couple friends. Before I moved in, I had only smoked like 5-10 times in my life, all spread out over the past 6 years or so. My roommates both smoked, so I started smoking and smoked every night for about 2 weeks. I decided to take a little break because I didn't want to smoke that much. So the first couple days after I stopped, I just wanted to smoke really bad and was really antsy. After that though, it justr turned into depression again, just like it did after I drank. Well i haven't smoked in like a week and a half, and I'm still depressed.
So all signs point to the pot causing it, but I'm not 100% positive. There's a chance it could just be the move and change of scenery and what not causing it too. I'm just wondering what you guys think? Should I just take the obivous route and stay away from bud? It really sucks because I was loving smoking and it was making me feel great and I had somehting to look forwards to every day. Do you think it's because of the medications I'm on? I was thinking about trying to smoke again in a couple weeks to see how I react. Is that a bad idea?\ Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.
And sorry for the lack of paragraphs and organization.
im very much the same way with my feelings and stuff i get low easily... except im younger
well i think maybe because of ur depression u got psychologically addicted (u can be addicted in that way to anything) and so your depresseion happend becuase u stopped... in a way it was the pot but itwas not smoking the pot... i think u could still smoke but maybe not enof to become emotionally dependant...

yeah and the fact that its not legal. i enjoy life, stoned or not. if you think its bad, it can only get better, but it can only get better if you're willing to make it get better. it's all in how you look at things.

I doubt its anything to do with the weed.
Cannabis is labeled a depressive, but peple who smoke cannabis have a much and i mean MUCH lower chance of ever being depressed.

I used to be a lot more depressed 'till I discovered pot. But recently, I decided to quit to sort of prove I wasn't addicted. (I've read that after a week of quitting you get really depressed.) And after about six days I started to get all aggitated and frustrated. Now, I'm okay and still haven't smoked for about two or three weeks. I don't think you should try to use pot to cure your depression, you should just use it to have a good time. That's why I don't smoke right when I wake up or right when I get home. So, I think you should still smoke just be responsible.

First of all, why do you think mood and setting have such an impact on your trip or your high? It is effecting your anxiety/depression because pot for the most part exacerbates your mood, feelings and so on. So you if you are "pre-wired" or prone to being anxious or depressed, you better believe pot effects it. So, it may not be the sole cause of your anxiety and depression, but it seems to obviously bring it out. Anyway, I hope your feeling better Noleaf... Maybe try burning again when your feeling good about things consistently. Cheerio!

I think this needs to be stated again. :stoned:
Although I did just buy a quarter of some high mids for $50. Normally I'm paying that for just an 1/8 here in my town. It's an awesome smoke... gets me waaaay stoned. $50 is a damn good price around here.. but then again I got it off my cousin who doesn't live in this town and is buddy-buddy with his dealer. So yeah. Life is good right now. :D

I think you may be right. I was recently put on Zoloft and I smoked alot before I was on it and never got depressed, but I smoked about 2 weeks after being put on the Zoloft and I was really depressed the day after.
