One sunny Saturday afternoon I decided to take a friend of mine, Shane, up gliding for the afternoon. He agreed so off we went.
We arrived at the pavement stip (which was the local 'airport') We hopped in the glider the tow plane took us up to about 3500 ft. Were just flyin around then Shane pulls out a joint and said in a semi-persuisive tone, "Want some?" I said "No" cause I was flying. But eventually the smoke filled up the cabin and we were both blazin at 3000ft...in a glider! :eek: I realized that there was NO WAY I could possibly land this wreck stoned, so I tried to stay aloft as long as I could, with Shane trippin balls in the back seat. After about three hours of wondering where I was and riding thermals, the we had to land.
Now I'm on the final strech of the landing when I realize that I'm comin in above the recommended flight path, and that I was gonna land about 100 ft AFTER the runway! So I jam the control stick forward and then pulled up just as sharply, losing about 200 ft in a couple seconds. Meanwhile, Shanes screamin his ass off with stuff like "are you tryna kill us?" and "are you crazy?" ect.
The landing was rough but the glider sustained no visible damage. As me and Shane stumbled out of the cockpit we realized that now I landed too early and we had to wheel the god damn thing a good 250 ft. And when we got the plane back to the correct patch of grass, Shane busted out another joint. So we jumped in my car, sparked the joint, and began the journey home. But that......is another story all in itself.
