Hello im new to the boards but not new to marijuana. Im from the Northeast and first came across sour diesel in July of 2005 and from that day I hate smoking any form of beasters or even low grade headies. The only problem is that Diesel and similar headies cost 4-5 an ounce and that can go fast. I didnt really think about growing at the time but last summer I was also offered by the grower Sour diesel clones for 20 bucks a piece which I turned down. Now that I am going to get into growing I need some advice. Instead of just asking what I need, I am going to say what I am going to use and I would greatly appreciate any input to help my plants be healthier and have a better yield.
First I want to say I am growing indoor, in a closet that measures 25 SF.
Soil: Plan on using Premiere (or Petes) promix. In each plant i am going to add 1 cup of bone meal, 1 cup blood meal. (I need some info on some more forms of organic feed. And also how often I should give them fertilizer or other foods.
Light: I am going to use either a 600watt or 1000watt hps light. Should I get one that is also compatable with a MH bulb, and also when should I use each bulb?
Containers: I plan on just using 3 Gallon buckets with holes drilled int he bottom and about 2 inches of rocks on the bottom to help draining.
Seeds: I am working on obtaining clones but if I cannot what (and i know everyone has there own opinion) seed will give me an allaround most bang for my buck. I mean ive been smoking diesel and haze for a few months now and greatly enjoy those. I know haze takes longer to grow and im not sure about sour Diesel. I want a seed that will give me a good yield but also the best bud, also I like nugs that have a strong smell
Electricty- Where I live a KWH=.098 cents. So if I run a 1000 watt light im looking between 40-60 dollars a month. Do companies look into this or is that much not that big deal. Not to mention where I live my electric bill has been everything from 60-350 dollars over the past 2 years,so its not like I have the same KWH every month then it just all of a sudden changes.
Smell- I dont know much about scurbbers but im willing to spend as much as 500 on one if it is worth it. Are they worth it and will they inpact the smell of the buds once they are picked and harvested?
I know I could search all over the forums and get htese answeres individualy, i just figured with all the great knowledge you guys have you could help me out. And since many growers screw up therefirst time, i figured if I can get help from people who already made these screw ups then I wont make as many my first time.
So if anyone could answer some or all of my questions or just give some advice or input id appreciate it. Also how many plants could i fit in a 25SF closet without effecting the integrity of my yield? Thank you:rasta:
