drunken typing should be illegal :D

Down in LA I used to get into trouble with people because I was one of the few white people in the area... all my friends are mexican, filipeno, samoan, black and damn near everything else you can imagine. Thus, I am a very violent person. You shoulda helped that f**ker out with his dental work instead of thinking about smashing his specs

"My study of Gandhi convinced me that true pacifism is not nonresistance to evil, but nonviolent resistance to evil. Between the two positions, there is a world of difference. Gandhi resisted evil with as much vigor and power as the violent resister, but True pacifism is not unrealistic submission to evil power. It is rather a courageous confrontation of evil by the power of love. . . ." Martin Luther King

My brother-in-law has that tatooed on his shoulder, opposite from the one with the USMC tat. The way I look at it, you can be put to the sword no matter what life style you follow. Look at the guy you quoted, and Ghandi. How did they perish? Old age had nothing to do with it.

Nonviolent resistance doesn't work. The guy with the gun can beat the guy without the gun any day of the week. Like it or not, that is the way the world is currently running. I like to reserve violence to a last resort, i.e. self-defense, but it is not without valid use. When society collapses, I will make sure I am armed and I know I will be thankful for it.

Unfortunately, my friends, you (as with most of the world) are being sucked into a frenzy of ethnic questioning due to the continued bias of the media.
Pick up your newspaper, and see how many violent crimes are attributed to an ethnic persuasion, rather than any other distinquishing factor. I wonder how many journalists' first question is "Was that person Islamic?"

The deep truth is, in my opinion, that if any of us is pushed hard enough, we will find that there wil be a point when we could be percieved as bieng racist.
It is human nature to fear that which is diiferent.

I prefer to discuss differences in opinion, it is the only way to learn about them. With knowledge comes power, but more than that - understanding.
Violence should always be the last option, for it shows a lack of intelligence.

I have practiced a few martial arts, and so I think my mentallity is such that I have a bit more restraint than the average Joe. However, I was pushed once, and had to react in self-defense - my ability scared the hell out of me! I could have killed the bloke several times (if you know what I mean  ), but was able to 'redirect' my blows before doing any real damage. I don't say this to brag (I'm not that kinda guy), I say this because violence has its cost - and it's not always bourne by the victim of the violence.

Alcohol has its own way of magnifiying certain emotions, and so extra restraint must be observed when under the influence. I don't drink, but am not about to say that alcohol is 'evil'.
In the UK, alcohol is fast becoming detrimental to society, and many areas in our towns and cities have become dangerous places to go on a saturday night. But then, our licencing laws are an ass!

Try to adopt the mentality that everyone who expresses a racial attitude is ignorant, and can't help it. Does it really matter to you how THEY percieve the world? Or rather, be smug in the knowledge that you are of higher intelligence than them, and rise above their dumb-ass mentality, rather than stoop to their level.

Just my thoughts :)

right on Res :)

anyway..

"The law of kamma states that our moral actions, whether good or ill, will have consequence either in this life, the next life or in future lives. Therefore, the quality of our future life will be determined by our present deeds" ...

"Both love and compassion underpin our moral actions. If we have compassion and love in our hearts, for example, it is very hard to harm other living things, either through word or deed. This can include love for ourselves. If we really care about ourselves, we will choose not to harm others" Peace

lol, you all gonna think I'm a monk or summat lmfaoo

I know that it is sometimes a bitter pill to swallow - someone dissing up your creed/race/colour, or indeed any violation of a personal nature, heck, I've been there many times.
I went through a time in my life where I harboured alot of anger and need for revenge, but a friend of mine shared this philosophy with me:

When you feel that you want to lash out at your enemy, place yourself in a mental sanctuary. Imagine that you are sat beneath the Tree of Life, smoking the finest herb you have ever known. Beside the Treee, runs a swift river - it is the river of Justice. And as you sit there, getting high, know in your heart, that someday your enemy will wrong someone that will do your revenge for you. This will leave your conscience clean, and your Justice served - smile as you watch your enemy float by in the river of Justice.

I like this idea, and has kept my conscience clear lol
