i was thinking about it and what if there were a 4ft plant not in flowering stage yet and you topped it, but instead of letting it grow you some how bent the topped part down into some soil. Would the top of the plant grow roots so it kind of looks like a rainbow, and since it has two sets of roots, could you feed it more?.....any insight would be helpful

Never tried it! But I know you can bend a limb over on an azaela plant and it will root,as well as a rose.Fedding just depends on which part or set of roots ya water, still the same plant! Both will thrive!Try it and let us all know! Hope the stalk don't snap....

Have done it , no problem, with pot plants. nursery tape and chlose pins, you gently bend it over. Use strips of panty hose 1/2 in , this prevent the porblem of string etc , as it dispersed the area. With string or wire you can cause the restriction on the stem, thus slowing down the vertical size.
I have even bent them in loops in a test. Always bend over a large radius and always have tape handy in case you break a stem or two. You realy gota be board to do loops with plants,
Just because the top of the plant is pointing down ,,,, does not make the plant grow upside down. (thats a joke)

Pot is a real simple plant , with simple math.
With a area foot and bulb watts about 35-45 you get about .5 grams per watt month. I have grown some goofie looking plants but the math stays the same. +-.01 grams/watt/month. I'm a lazy grower , growem, bloomem, cut , etc.
