As long as you are willing to give them some free nuggage (like show the doorman the monster in your hand) famous people of the musical variety are almost always willing to toke it up.
A friend and I smoked 2 blunts, and a few bong hits with Kool Keith backstage at the Crystal Ballroom back in '99 during the "Black Elvis/Lost in Space" tour. I think he got too fucked up here in Portland, though. He performed most of the show in a freakin' space helmet, which was amusing at first, but started to suck after a while 'cos you couldn't hear a damn word he was saying. It's even more annoying now that I know even if I do ever see Kool Keith again, he will never be as good as he was back in the late 90's. :(
Oh well. I'll still always get to say that I smoked with the greatest rapper to ever leave his saliva on a microphone.

James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich (Metallica), Willie Nelson.
Willie was on tour at the Fillmore, which my friends operate, and I was invited by a radio personality friend of mine to go have lunch with Metallica at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, in San Francisco, when Metallica was inducted into the SF walk of Fame(like hollywood, but for bay area musicians).
I have toked with less known, but known none-the-less, in the independent music scene. Poormans Whiskey, Todd Snider, Robert Earl Keen, Iris Dement, etc etc....
I gave a joint to Bob Weir(grateful dead) once, back in 1983, but didnt blaze it with him. He was on his way to the airport and was just finishing breakfast in Berkely California, and we were outside burning one. He didnt have time to stay and smoke, but he took one for the road.

That's very cool, Daima.
Did you have a chance to converse with Willie when you smoked with him, or was it just a sort of perfunctory smoke?
I don't have any famous folks on my list--and frankly, very few non-famous ones, either. But I think Willie might be on my fantasy list of folks I'd like to smoke with. I'd like to ask him some questions about songwriting. Willie. Richard Gere. Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn would be fun stoned, I'll bet.

My uncle who used to live in brixton now lives in cyprus, met Bob Marley back in the 60's or 70's cant remember but Bob was in the UK for some reason and basically my uncle a HUGE fan sat with him smoked a few joints and chilled. My uncle said he was a real nice guy and offered my unlcle to play football with him later that day which he did and he also said bob was a gr8 footy player.
I aint smoked with no 1 famous but ive smoked a joint with a couple UK rappers a while back thats it rly

I dont really like the band, but i watched a concert of Incubus with my friends once...
After the show, we had a "Meet & Greet" ticket thing. So we met up with the band and took sum pictures...
While that was happening, i saw one of the dudes (drummer i think) smokin a fat joint.
So i wipped out my blunt that i had and sparked it... The guy then asked me if he could hav a hit. So i was like "sure"...
Then we just started passing it around and around, and we just left afterwards...
It was pretty cool, i didn't even know those guys smoked!??

I do have a relationship with Willie, other than smoking. We have actually met several times. When he is in SF i am a person he looks forward to seeing....., or so i am told. Goldie is fun. I grew up along side her and enjoyed her very much on Rowan @ Martin's Laugh-in. I have guitar picks from just about everyone i wanted one from who has ever played the Fillmore, in SF.

I was at a NORML convention in DC (I think it was in 2000). I met Jack and was telling him about my book that I was working on about the history of the hemp industry in Pennsylvania. He was very interested and he invited me and my brother and our good friend up to his suite for a smoke and some talk. It was pretty exciting because in the middle of the conversation one of Jack's friends came in and told him that their efforts in Alaska had just paid off. He got word that the question to legalize marijauna had made the ballot.
Jack told us about how they had stood around in the cold getting people to sign petitions. He was excited to learn the news and he was equally excited to hear about the research I was doing in Pennsylvania. I showed him the pictures I had of the hempstones and he said "Now they'll never be able to deny that hemp was a major crop!"
I'm pretty sure we did smoke Jack Herer bud. We smoked from his "Double Barrell" bowls that he makes and sells. Jack's really a good guy.
That initiative failed that year though. It came close to passing but some thought it was just a bit too radical because it called for the release of those imprisoned currently on marijauna charges and also called for reperations to those harmed by the laws. People were not willing for the state to pay boat loads of money so it was narrowly defeated.
Jack is a big inspiration to me. When I published my book last year I sent him an autographed copy and I always let everyone know that it was his work which inspired mine.

Me and a very well-connected friend of mine smoked with Shaun White. It was in the athlete's tent at the winter x-games, and since I live right where the x-games are held, it's rather easy to get hooked up with those kind of people. Proffesional boarders I mean. It was fun though. We didn't really smoke out. Just shared a bowl. But we caught up with the dude before he went out for practice. Good kid. Nice.

I've gotten close to smoking with several local hardcore bands, Goromorah, Dismembering something or other, and people like that. I started hanging out the the local hardcore shows so I'm gettin to know several of the bands cause I try to get there early (cause my parents don't really like the music) so alot of times i end up helping them setup.

Many years ago, I use to toke up with a guy who was an Olympic gold medalist in track and field. Obviously, I will decline to reveal his name!
