I ordered Marijuana Horticulture: The Indoor/Outdoor Medical Grower's Bible from FS Book Co. Of course, I used a fake name on the order form, when I sent in my money order of $30. I also wrote on the order form: "Please email me whenever you ship the book off" (They emailed me) and "PLEASE LEAVE THE NAME OFF THE FRONT OF THE PACKAGE"!! Of course, I used a friend of mine's P.O. Box address. HERE'S THE PROBLEM: When the book came to the P.O. Box, they told my friend that she needs ID in order to recieve the package, because her name doesn't match the one on the package!! Is there anything that I can do, or do I have to take it as another LOSS?? Please help me by replying!

they'll mail it back to fs books after 10 days unless claimed (which obviously it won't be) so you should contact fs books and let them know what's going on.

and now you know ya can't put just any old name on a p.o. box and expect a delivery which is the main prob when it comes to other deliveries...it's important the name matches with the box application on file. if nothing else, use the 2nd line and write in a company name or a "friend". they will accept that without identification as long as the main box holder has one.

while you're waiting to get this sorted out try this online book by ed rosenthal:

I can't sign for the book, because I used a fake name, and I can't show them any ID or nothing, because my name and the name on the package doesn't match.

I'll be sure to contact FS Book Co. as soon as possible!

I used a fake name just in case something went wrong, but I had told FS Book Co. to leave the name off the package. I had thought that you could recieve mail (P.O. Box) without a name on the front. If anything I should have told them to put "resident" or something else on the front. If I was to tell them to put a company name on the package, how would I verify this company? The reason I didn't put my friend's name on the form, because I didn't want to get anyone else involved. Thanks for the all of the help, and I appreciated the link, also.

People really suggest that you mail shit to people you knows house instead of using a P.O. Box and it actually doesnt sound like a bad idea :).

Thanks for replying orangeman, but I DO NOT want to get anybody else involved in this situation. Putting a friend's name on a package of beans doesn't sound so safe. I'm pretty sure thats how a lot of people get SNITCHED ON, when the Po-Po come knocking on their doors! I can't really trust my friends that much, when it involves a severe punishment that I have to face. Hate to sound paranoid to all of the readers, but I am trying to go about this situation in the best way possible, because I really wanna grow!

If you really wanna grow! You should get some of the best possible smoke money can buy! Hope there is a seed or two in the sack.Mine ain't got the first seed. Go from there! Use marijuana multiplication! CLONE! Take cuttings! Make sure it's a female.Make them mama's! There ya go!Much as ya want! It'll be good smoke! Olny you know what kinda high you like. Just like me with a wine! It gotta be a Merlot! Red like my eyes! Really blue. You should be able to get a P.O.Box of your own. Then there would be no worries, huh? Hell I got 1.Works well for me.I open it and get my mail and leave! That coulda been the way you would have done it.Just a thought! Good luck with the recovery!

PO Boxes are fine.
And people use them for this everyday.

the problem is...you out thought your self...It is just a book, I ordered mine used, but new from amazondotcom for 10 bucks. By using a bunch of names, you bring attention to yourself??? who opened account...could you possibly go there and get box contents from a clerk that recognizes you as boxholder? goodluck...

next time you're at the post office let the person behind the counter know you need to add another name to your box. have a company name ready or the name of your 'new room mate' and print it on the line below your name. it works great and you'll never lose another package as long as you don't forget the name...

it's also a good idea to keep mail coming in that name...like any magazine subscriptions, freebies, coupon mailers, you know...sign up for all the free stuff you come across that requires a mailing address and keep that box busy!

Why not just go to a local barnes and knobles. I went to mine and they have all sorts of horticulture books there. I purchased Ed Rosenthals Indoor High Yield Guide there and it was only like $23. It would be much safer to do it this way then online.

but even going to a store can be a problem. operation green merchant had dea parked across or around parking lots where grow lights and equipment are sold and 100's were busted with that! so even driving to your local store has its own hazards...

but books are different, at least for now...

I would never be able to find any really good smoke with seeds in them, because the best doesn't have any seeds, except for some good Mid. I'm going to go, as soon as I get a chance, and open up a P.O. Box of my own. Thanks for the help!

I guess that I really did out-think myself, but I was just a little paranoid. I shouldn't have been paranoid over a book. My friend opened the account, but she said that I would have to be a sibling to get mail from her P.O. Box address. I emailed FS Book Co. and they said, whenever the package is returned, they will resend the order to a different location and name once I send them the money for shipping. The reason FS Book Co. couldn't leave the package without a name was because of all the trouble due to 9/11. My friend said that she would still try to convince them to let her get the package. Thanks for the input!

I definitely will add a couple of other names to the P.O. Box address and possibly a company. Thats a great idea to send all subscriptions and other things to the P.O. Box as well. Thanks for the helpful information!

I never knew that Barnes and Nobles sold books involving growing Mary. If I would have known that earlier before I tried to order from FS Book Co., I would have went there first. But since I already paid for the book, I might as well wait until it comes in the mail. Thanks for the info!

If the DEA could be waiting outside of a local grow store, couldn't they be waiting outside of a local Postal Office??? If they know that books, beans, and other grow equipment are coming to this location, wouldn't that give them reason to follow me???

most companies are very discrete when dealing with sensitive material and i know for a fact fs books are one of these...years ago, before the net even, i ordered and received mel & ed's spiral edition grow book and it came fully covered with no hint of what's inside and a neighbor recently ordered cervantes' book and they still use the same method.

just pick a reasonable and sensible company name and add it to your box. adding several will only raise eyebrows and you can say you're getting involved with ebay selling and buying if they ask any questions about your new biz name on the box and they might think it odd you coming in asking to put another name on the list when that person could have just as easily done it. set up an email account with same name and shop it around at various sites that mail catalogs and other free stuff and if you do ebay, set up an account there and start buying stuff to be sent in that name to that box.
