When my Java starts loading, it loads up to beyond the screen. Then it pauses, and then chat magically appears, after it seems to have all gone wrong.

Well, you have to change your "Internet Options", however, I couldn't tell ya' what to do, or even if I'm right.

Ok peeps, tech support is here ;) (Java the Hutt, heh, cute)
Loading past the little bar problem,
Not really a problem actually, just a bug considering the badly written applet that is ParaChat. The chat still loads, don't fret, it just extends to to the edge of the applet's window and then finishes loading, where you can't see it. So yes, in a sense it "magically appears", because the bar keeps going, you just can't see it because of the limited java window.
Not Loading At All,
Is Java enabled for your current browser? (Assuming your a Winblowz user) Goto the control panel (windows key+R and type in Control Panel and hit enter) open the Java menu (Much easier to find if you have the control panel set at "Classic View" as it's simply the little Coffee Cup icon) goto "Advanced" tab, and goto "<Applet> tag support" and in there should be a little list of your currently installed browsers, is yours ticked?
Check your Java Console!
If you use Firefox, the Java Console is right under "Tools" under the name JavaScript Console (who'd have thought that?)...Tell me what it says when you get an error, if nothing is there, wait for it to load, obviously nothing is wrong...For all you IE Users...(GET FIREFOX ALREADY! {http://www.getfirefox.com})The console is accessible in the same place, Tools > Sun Java Console.
Please be patient with your computers people, I personally hate Java...but since this is becoming a problem, I'm going to suggest Cannabis.com put the chat onto an IRC server, or at least a better web-based applet...If you don't have any errors in your Java console, chances are, you're just not waiting long enough for the badly written applet, to open.
I hope this helped some of you, if your still having problems, please post a detailed description of your problem, and I'll try to help you as best I can. Hope to see you in chat ;)

I've never had any problems beofre today..
It just won't start loading, the red line doesn't apear, but everything else is there.. Then ½ a minute later, the little square goes white, and a red cross apears in the upper left corner..
I just did what you said Cylon, and it didn't work..
DAMN!:p

Ahh! The red X! The DREADED RED X! *cowers in fear* No, I get that all the time Paranoia, don't freak ;) lol Open the Java Console after you get the red X and please tell me the error, if you get the same error as me, I've got a solution for ya ;)
