the way we did it would be to smoke most of the joint to about halfway, then put it in the mouth (with the roach on the outside) then make a small tunnel with the hands (or a finished loo roll works well too) and the person with the spliff would just blow as hard as they could while the reciever would suck like mad... just watch u dont burn the inside of your mouth lol, it hurts :o

so yeah i've given and recieved them, actually my first time smoking was with a couple joints and quite a few blowbacks lol

I dont think they are talking about what I was.

Theyre talking about putting a joint backwards in your mouth and blowing so you blow the smoke out instead of sucking it in, and then a person sucks up the smoke you blow out

WE call it a shotgun when you blow it to someone else. a blowback is letting a cloud come out of your mouth, and a diablo hit is putting a blunt/joint in your mouth backwards so you're blowing smoke out of it.

those are what we call them here, I'm not saying they're universally right

We used to "diablo" (never heard that term before but I like it) into a frosty mug with ice. Cools the smoke so much it stays in the mug/glass/cup or whatever and you can literally knock it back or suck it up with a straw. Gets you pretty fucking high too.
