i saw an old post of yours from last year about a friend who got 'visited' coz he was getting a number of packages in the mail from overseas. i'm curious - were his visitors feds or local leos? did he get charged?

a friend of mine who's missing a number of packages from overseas just got 'visited' by local leos. he freaked out and gave up his stash (i don't blame him). if they're indeed local leos (i have my doubts), i'm guessing that packages (especially from a'dam and western ca) are getting a close look by feds/customs who then pass the lead to the local leos.

That 'friend'..was me..I said it that way,because I was warned not to talk about my experience,on-line,by a yet to be identified fed,I'll probably never know who the fed was,the local narcotics task force,came along with the fed,as well as a postal inspector. My stash box was sitting out on the table and they had a pretty good idea what was in it,so I gave it up to them,less than a quarter. I was told,that if I was a good boy,that they might not charge me with it,but they did anyway and I wound up with having to accept the conviction for it..on 4/20/06.

I believe,that after having Customs sieze one package from the nederlands,that I was put on a watch-list,and after having several packages from vancouver,bc,being siezed,and probably illegally searched,that they had enuff..and the fed even said,nuff was enuff and they had to put a stop to me gittin packages in the mail. All of the packages I was gittin,were gifts of compassion,I didn't pay for em,because they were all just gifts in very small amounts,like 1-2 grams or so..so the fed said that he would git laughed out of US courts,for pursueing such small amounts. So he didn't charge me with anything and left my fate in the hands of the local task force. The lead task force feller,said that he would probably just call me up and have me "walk" through the system,but he didn't give me that chance to report voluntarily,with-out prior notice,I was woken up from my regular mid-day nap,by a deputy,who arrested me and took me off to jail..I didn't git to "walk"through the system.

I did request a public defender,however,and I'm glad that I did,because I wound up with no probation,just fines and court-costs and of course,a conviction for a class b misdemeanor. If I had a DL,it would be suspended for a year,but since I don't,I just can't apply for a DL for a year.

There's a little more to the story,that I can't tell ya on-line and probably not by phone or email,either..as the local lead investigator,has reccomended,that my case remain open for investigation. Well..I ain't gonna ever let anyone send me weed through the mail,ever again and I don't pose an on-going threat to my community,like an addict of hard drugs does. They are wasting their time and money on me,while others committ far worse crimes,everyday..and I remain convinced,that they allow known drug houses,to continue to operate and sell drugs to our children,so that they can arrest the users and drive up their revenues from such. So..who's the biggest 'criminal' here ?

I was so insistent that I use marijuana medically,to relieve my chronic back pain and spasticity from such,that they even included it on their investigation report..I wish that you could read it..it was a small victory of sorts..I tell you what !

i won't know all the pieces to the puzzle that led to my friend's predicament but it appears from what you described that if you're missing a package (granting it was sent out), chances are customs got it and your name/address then gets flagged. at what point you get a 'visit' would depend, i'm guessing, on the volume of seized packages in your name.

Yup..you cut to the chase,and what would make it even worse,is if the cops could prove that one was paying for the packages,in my case,I was too broke to be paying for anything,all of my packages,were gifts of compassion and not even sell-able amounts. I would also add,be careful of what one asks for and where one does the askin at..because it could lead directly to trouble..as I,naively and foolishly, found out.:(

I for one am hanging around. I think as long as everyone is choice with whom they communicate with, we should be safe. I for one just want to know what all the back channel noise is and who is the source. I think people are spooking others needlessly.

Absolutely Big Calhoun,if there is background noise circulating someone oughta front it out or post some logged conversations(no nicks,of course)to let the more concerned individuals make the proper choices from there.it does get sketchy on these boards at times;but its a come and go thing.it almost always goes wiggity-wiggity-wack about the sametime schools let out for the summer.then after a few weeks things settle back to normal(whatever that is).;)

one thing that makes forums like this great is their openness, ie., one is free to subscribe (or not) to his/her own volition. i'm as cautious as the next guy or gal - given that our subject matter is after all, illegal.

i created the post to seek the experience of others and help me better protect myself. its negative effect on some is certainly unintentional.

Calhoun's PS announcement is what spooked me. I don't know anything else. I'm only coming back to warn you of people you speak with in chat that have zero posts on the board. I encountered one recently, beezer, looking for a hookup and I said I don't know anything. No offense to you beezer but this is the type of thing we need to look out for. These people are fishy and they can get user emails by clicking on user names in the chat list. I have no doubt this board is being monitored so watch what you say.

Personally, I've always wanted to be able to quit smoking pot so that I can have a leg to stand on when I begin advocating legalization publicly but for now I'm scurrying back to my regular life as a father trying to make a living for his family.

Hopefully this and other pro cannabis forums will prosper and allow the world to see who we are and break the biggotted view many people have of pot users due to out of sync laws of prohibbition.

What about the explostion of anti-depressent drug users? All enjoying a perfectly legal existence although usually in secret and more noticably exploding the health insurance industry. I'm sure all the drug lobbiest are happy to spend profits keeping marijuana talk out of politicians' mouths at the same time raping the country and creating their own legal addicts.

I didn't mean to spook anyone and am sorry if I did. I'm not aware of any specific law enforcement action going down, so let's get that clear. The purpose of my post was to simply inform some inviduals who choose to say, "Oh, Big Calhoun said you could hook me up" that if you use my name to score, I will find out and I will call you out on it. I came here like most people not knowing anyone. Maybe a few people stepped up and we were able to start good relationships. I'll be damn if I'll see those relationships get screwed up or see someone get into trouble just b/c some newb is jonesin and trying to make a quick score. No way sir.

So that was my only intention. Honestly, I think things are OK and I think we have a pretty good knowledge of who to look out for. It's just a matter of playing it safe.

i have been on these boards for a while now...i was on Marihemp under another name (mainly in the seed bank section..because i LOVE seeds) but anyway ,i've seen the panic that can happen when a seed bank is busted(marc emery,heavens stairway..part of overgrow..which was busted by RCMP and DEA.).they have ganged together in their effort to stop or SPY on the web sites that support Grass..it used to be that we could swap or buy seeds with no problem(except for the occasional troll or scammer).now it seems like there is no one you can trust...alot of people were busted because they trusted someone who they thought was ok...lot of packages (such as Torog's) were seized...alot of addresses were gotten when the banks were busted..alot of people had suspicion thrown upon them for talking a little TOO much on certain sites or posting pics of their grow.....we have become WAY TOO LAX in out way of life while the Gov. has been silently gathering info, names, addresses(part of it is probably due to the terrorism scare)...Grass is more popular then ever ( the silent majority) but until WE can convince the gov. that it is not the KILLER weed that is shown in Reefer Madness then we will always be individuals fighting alone,,afraid to trust the 420 person who is just as apprehensive about us as we are about them...Medical Marijuana has come a long way but for every victory there are two defeats...just about every county in Cal. that allows M.M. has different rules and regulations about its use and growing...some states now allow small portions with just a fine if caught...some do not...NORML is trying to doing its best to help but we have to help too.... support NORML...support M.M...it might not seem like much,but if we can get out foot in the door...we can push it open for some sort of legalization ...i've been smoking for almost 36 years..have seen alot of people get busted for having anywhere from a joint to pounds...i wish things were different but wishing don't get it...we have to act.. i support both causes...we have to unite ALL over and show this gov.(which is supposed to be ours) that WE are the government..not them

Sometimes people get busted by local PD because they talked too much.. then they come crying about big brother tactics and BS like that.. I think its B.S. although I can understand shady packages with weed in them getting caught at customs is a good reason for a personal visit (no offense).

About pics.. I can understand not being in the pics.. but why not post them? First of all i could just want to look cool.. there are millions of pics of pot on the internet and i could just be reposting them..

I have lived a lot and I have learned a lot. Most of what I have learned lies in the truth that if you dont screw around with other people they wont screw around with you..

hence my motto: dont tell anyone except the online comunity if you grow.. use all fake info and never mix online with real life (i.e. dont post "I sell in qty" and then go meet the ppl) i.e. no locals at all.. dont tell your friends and dont tell anyone in real life.. no mixing at all.. and no other crimes at the same time (like stealing electricity to run grow lights).. and dont try to sell it.. personal use only..

Find someone that followed every one of those stipulations and got busted. It doesnt happen because nobody cares about some dude with a bag seed plant growing under a light bulb in a closet who doesnt do anything else wrong.

Oh, and for good measure.. do good things! a couple weeks ago I did a comunity cleanup and local PD was there as volunteers too.. My team leader was the head investegator (detective) of drug enforcement for the whole town.. How trippy is that? haha But anyways I asked him about what he deals with the most and he said right now they are focusing on meth labs and people who dont feed their children because they are strung out on meth.

that pic i posted could be me, it could be anyone, and it could be from years ago or minutes ago. If I actually did have anything that i couldnt drop in the crapper before i answered the door I wouldnt even be on a message board.

Torog, would you answer a specific question about when they came knocking? How much time exactly passed between when the feds passed it down to the local task force, who told you you could turn yourself in and "walk through" the system; to when they actually arrested you. And how did the initial visit go? How did the postal inspector and company present themselves if you know what I mean? Did they just bust out with it, or was it "mr. torog we'd like to ask you a few questions about a few recent parcels sent to you recently..."

Shocking that you can lose your LICENSE... for a YEAR... for POSESSION! (or were they aiming at something higher like interstate/foreign shipments make it a felony?)

Anyways, sorry to hear it. I am just getting back to these boards after a year's layoff. Looks like alot has changed. No TALK about MOM, acid, shrooms etc, and sketchy shit going down in chat? I guess things change, adapt or bail. I'm an adaptor.
