hey,
anyone here besides me go camping every so often (and toke till the hearts content, do nature things, play music, and just be free away from normal everyday life) whether it be in your backyard or in the mountains/desert/beach, etc.

i was just thinking about how much i love doing that like once a month or so. its so free and peaceful.:stoned:

Camping is the shit. I used to go all the damn time back home in the mtns. It's just too damn hot down here for it. Maybe I'll get to go this winter.

I'm going camping this weekend for a couple nights. It's actually a huge party that my friends parents and their friends have every year, out in the middle of nowhere in this huge field on a river. Basically, no electricity, no running water, all the beer and weed you could ever want... and it's a fucking blast. I just hope it's rained a bit where we're going so the waterfall will be running for us to take showers in. Woooo!

Time to go roll some joints for the weekend... leaving in the morning! :D

Ahhh, yes, the great outdoors and any form of LSD are always a good time.

I just returned from 5 days camping out on the prarie and listening to great music for 4 days. It was the time of my life, to put it simply.

Tripping all night just sitting in my chair staring at the sky and stars is a euphoria beyond comprehension..

i hate fucking campers so bad, i mean seriously get the lead out, walk your ass around and find someone to kill instead of just sitting there..

The only camping there is, is pitchin' a tent.. no running water or electricity. No cell phones, no portable TVs... nothing from the civilized world.. except for a CD player/radio. People who say they're going 'camping' who drive around in their RVs... screw them, that's not REAL camping bitches.

All you need is sleeping supplies, food, WEED (or any other forms of drugs), alcohol... and that's about it.

Yah, I'd put more emphasis on those "other drugs" too. Can't live without 'em!

the mother of all campouts is going on right now through past july 4th in the steamboat springs, co area...the rainbow family of living light are there now with nearly 1,000 already on the land with up to 25,000 expected by the 4th.

Its a Plant
06-15-2006, 07:19 PM
That's cool. Is it just camping or is it a festival too? And I dunno about the "mother of all" since Bonnaroo is going on, and that's some 100,000 campers.

bonaroo doesn't last for 6 weeks tho...

it's a place where a town is setup for a couple months with emphesis on leaving babylon behind...even cash is frowned on, not to mention alcohol. music is a 24 hour thing with drum circles going on late at night (it's best to camp far away from the drum circles...duh) and different clans from different regions set up camps with individual motifs, even a large 'kiddy kamp' for kids and their parents to be in a more controled environment more suited to the under 14 crowd...and there are many! there's a-camp for those that must bring alcohol along with a couple dozen kitchens serving all kinds of food, teas and coffee...even a few ovens made from the local earth that make killer pizza's, breads and rolls! they tap a spring and run it thru filters to supply the 'town' with fresh water, dig trenches for shitters (w/lime too!) and organize the area so it's as easy to get around as possible...iow, it's a well planned tent-city with good food, music and good people...and it's all free!

06-15-2006, 07:34 PM
Man, that would be heaven if I could manage to escape my life for 6 whole weeks! That sounds pretty sweet with everything being free. Lol, and yah, those drum circles get old even before they start up.

and ya don't have to spend 6 weeks there...only the die-hard, hard-core rainbows do that (and most live in the woods, off the grid, full-time anyway, LOL)...just visit for a few days. come and go as ya please...just park your vehicle accordingly so you can get out...the parking lot is packed solid by the end of june. but it is something everyone should see at least once in their youth and maybe it'll click with ya and you'll visit often over the years! it's been a yearly event since 1972 and always in a different national forest...

I love camping, backpacking, rock climbing, anything outdoors. At one time I planned to be a professional mountain guide but one thing led to another and I wound up in an office instead:( . I literally spent more of my 19th year in a tent than at home. Winter camping out in the snow is my favorite. Especially high up in the mountains. Everything is covered in a white blanket and is so peaceful.

I used to work in a store that sold backpacking and rock climbing equipment and was able to get all kinds of perks from the equipment companies. One year this backpack company hosted a big party up on Mt. Shasta in Northern California. They wanted us to test their backpacks so they loaded us down with lots of beer and food. We hiked up to just above the treeline and set up a big camp in the snow. There was about 15 of us and I think everyone was a smoker so we must have had close to a 1/2lb of dank between us. Once the sun went down the party started and everybody got absolutely trashed. Probably the best party I ever went too.
