ive read on here that the plant times the dark time and releases flowering hormones...
Can i start the dark cycle early as long as its only for 6 hours or less?
In other words...
If i had to shut the lights off early in the day cycle, but only had them off for 6 or less hours, then will the plants flower?
Peace All

Plants need 10 hours of darkness to begin the flowering process.

i agree with harddon, but then again I have no idea what I am saying....:stoned:
10 minimum, but id give it 12/12 for the first 4 weeks, then turn it down to 14/10

so then it doesnt matter how long the plants get light for.... as long as they only get 6 hours or less of darkness then im keepin it fairly safe? assuming that i make up for an early dark period with a nice long light period afterwards.
Thanks guys.
Peace

Plants like these will flower if taken from 18/6 OR 24/0 down to 14/10.
I know for fact, White Russian (cross breed of white widow / ak47) produce more THC under a 14 hour light cycle.
12/12 is perfectly normal and will induce flowering as well.
Your question still is unclear to me.
It DOES matter how much light they get and the frequency and schedule.
Pick one and go with it.

What triggers flowering in the light cycle. Then the plant senses that and flowers.I've stayed with the 12-12 for personal reasons! I guess by what I've read and experienced that 10 is as far as I would go with it!

yeah they need MORE than 6 hours of darkness to trigger the hormone, i would say 12 hours of total darkness...unless you have self flowering ones.
