Ok, I know this has been know but please explain to me, why is it so?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Controlled_Substances_Act#Schedule_I_drugs

Read the criteria that a substance needs to have in order to be classified as a schedule I drug, Marijuana has none of these.

Now read the criteria for a drug being schedule II

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Controlled_Substances_Act#Schedule_II_drugs

WHY is Cocaine classifed under II and not I?!

Now I dont want marijuana to be on these "schedules" period but one of the criterias for schedule II is "The drug or other substance has a currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States or a currently accepted medical use with severe restrictions." So why isnt marijuana under schedule II or any other one yet?

Here's part on of your answer:
Cocaine (used as a topical anaesthetic)

And part two:
It's a rich mans drug. Lawmakers have the cash...1+1=2

Have a good one!

They need to take marijuana off of schedule I, it's just amazing how sooo many people know what they are feeding us is bull shit but they continue to treat marijuana like it's crack or somethin.

Yeah you should follow the brits lead and make it class c. I don't actually really want a law change in England. I get it dirt cheap, top quality and I can walk down the street with a spilff and not be too worried.

I don't need to walk down the street with a spliff.

I wouldn't mind sitting on a bench at the ocean, with my steamroller. :smokin:

ahh, the hipocrasy of government. they say it has no medicinal value yet they still have seven people that are supplied cannabis on federal prescriptions! ama have published reports stating results of trials and tests that have already been done proving many do benefit from cannabis yet they are ignored. will it take a senator's son or daughter coming down with a serious affliction such as ms before changes are made? we have half a million more prisoners than in 2003 incarcerated right now with 70% of them in for non-violent crimes and a third of those are for cannabis! write your politicians and start the change! mpp.org has all the info needed to wage your own personal protest right down to pre-written letters ready to send off!

That's incorrect information though, that needs to be edited.

Marijuana has a schedule all to it's own, it's 6 I believe, however this might be different per state. I just know that in North Carolina, Marijuana isn't a schedule I drug.

Also....Cocaine is in a few medicines here and there, and as such has a medical use, bringing it down to schedule II...

I agree with you about the alcohol, I hardly hear of people dying from "Stoned Driving" however, just last week two kids just outside my town died from drunk driving...Alcohol used to be illegal however, so I feel that pot will be legalized, it's just a matter of time ;)

I think when I found out that alcohol was illegal and then legalized again and people had all this time to see how bad alcohol is and it's still legal, yet marijuana was never even given a chance and it's illegal is fuckin backwards. I mean cant they see that people that use marijuana are way more well behaved than those that use alcohol (hard)?
