buying a bowl or pipe? suggestions plz

my friend dropped my bowl and it chipped, so i'm getting another one

any suggestions or preferences?
what makes a good bowl and a good pipe... what makes them shitty? :rasta:

i suggest always go with a bong when buying an item. i find that i get higher from smaller amounts so it saves you money when buying the good ol erb. you could also easily make a bowl out of household items like nuts and tinfoil or the cable pieces at the end of a cable connection

Hey man,

To Me it all depends on what your buying it for. If u need something mobile like to use in your car, walking around or need to hide it from parents or such then go with a pipe. Its easy just to put in your pocket and is very handy. If u are looking for a piece that u can just leave at your house then get a bong They are nice to have but big and u need to have a place to put it. Bong or pipe u save weed rather than doin a blunt or joint. I perfer a pipe since it can be used anywhere. Goodluck let us know how it goes,

Small pyrex glass pipe without a large cavity inside because it tends to make it fragile. Carb and dome shaped bowl are essential.

Find a glass pipe that is thick as fuck. I always go for durability over looks. That's why I have a sweet stone pipe. Or, you could also get a tiny bong if you need transportability and discreetness. I have a clear glass one that's shorter than a 20 oz bottle. It was only $20.

inside out glass adds to it's strength, maybe you should look into that so there's less chance of it breaking/chipping.

Hey, harmonicminor - where did you find info about the toxin from glass that changes color? I got my first glass one earlier this year, and noticed the color changes, but wasn't aware of the toxins. If this is legit, I'll go replace it with a clear one. Thanks!

The colour changing is from precious metals that have been fumed into the glass structure, they're not toxins.

if you're really worried about durability.. just go with a metal one. pros: they're gonna survive a drop pretty much no matter what, they get mad resin, they have covers sometimes, cheaper, you wont have to worry about scratching glass when you scrape out resin. cons: they get HOT AS FUCK, which is a total pain in the ass and a buzzkill, and they're not as pretty as glass pieces.

glass pieces are pretty expensive around here if you're lookin for anything that looks like its thick at all.. personally i hate metal pieces, and own three glass ones =P

Lizard's right. Metal has its advantages. But it can get hot and I find the taste isn't as nice. Go with glass for a nice, cleaner smoke and drop a bit more coin if you want to make up some durability. You could also go with stone or wood. But glass is nice, no doubt.
