I've been growing for some years now and I've learned alot but I'm still having trouble producing healthy clones consistantly. I was thinking of building a small cabinet specifically for solving this problem but before I do I was wondering if anyone has already done this on thier own. I don't want to spend an arm and a leg to accomplish this either but I need something that will control the temp and light in a small package enough to produce 20-40 clones. I've been using a 12"x18"x4" plastic tub with two 12" airstones under a four tube, four foot long floresent light fixture to start clones in the past. All cuttings are cut from plants during veg cycle. Any suggestions?

Hey Dawg!
Lemme share this with ya! Get those black greenhouse trays, with a 32 or an 18 hole insert.I like the 32 jumbo,or 1202's.Take your cutting like normal.I like to take my cutting and put them in a pan of the solution I will be spraying them with during propagation.Take nice cuttings at least 3 ore more inches, with 2 or more nodes has done great for me.Take bamboo skewers and stick 1 in each corner.cover with plastic/CLEAR,leave them in the room at 18 hours or more light.24 is better but 18 ain't no sloutch!I do have a box with a 4 ft flo and it holds 2 trays end to end.It works well for me.It's just that cha already got the light on! Why use another? Time could be done doing other stuff! If ya wanna know what I did to build it,lemme know.I think this work's well for me with out it! Gotta have the room?

Holla!

I went and made 3 pix for you.

I made this for cloning a couple months ago...

It is nothing more that one level of a plastic shelf unit...
I took a cardboard box and wrapped it in panda plastic, then strategically poking some holes in cardboard piece, I wrapped/zip-tied fabricated piece to the shelf unit.

I cut out some of the middle support braces and wired in a standard receptacle to hold a 45w cfl...that's all you need.

these clones are just a week from cutting and most have rooted.

The propagation tray, is as stated above, a simple plastic starter tray w/dome...I use rockwool starters...soaked overnight at 5.5-6ph...shake water out real good, insert clone without damaging stem...add 1/4" water in bottom of tray and place your clones inside. close the door.

open top of propagaton dome once or twice a day to let in fresh air...you can also spritz them a couple times a day.

the key to successful cloning is no-wilt, or similar products like it...I also use miracle gro, leafshine for this purpose and it works exactly the same as the pro anti-wilt products.
this product keeps your clones from withering away, whilst you wait for roots.

I am going to give you a link, that if you follow, you will start cloning successfully.

It was for me to learn this method from 2 other very experienced growers here.

I have always in the past used bubblers or aero systems to clone, but I actually like this better, despite all my past success with hydro cloning.

Oh yeah, you can fit 54-60 cuttings inside this box...

goodluck
