hey im still pretty much a n00b to smoking.. i started over a year ago, but recently I'm doing it more often so I'm tryin to learn as much as i can. so here's a few questions.. and I know I'll be back with more:
Is there a way to identify what type/strain/whatever kind of bud that you have? For example, the color, smell, texture etc. I know there's like soooooo many dirffrent kinds, but what are the basics. ( I kind of know what sativa and indica are, but if someone can explain it a little further.. maybe in terms of how it looks and stuff).
How can you tell if your bud is really good (aside from smoking it). I'm sure it depends on the strain or w/e, but i hear that if its realllly green, almost neon looking then its good. and obviously if theres not a lot of stems or seeds.
As far as taste, is there a way to tell if what your smoking is good? And also if it's harsh on your lungs/throat.. does that mean its good or bad?
 lots of n00b questions.. i just wana make sure i get the best pot available out of all of my dealers bc i have about 5 of them.. thanks
any other info would be sweet.. thanks

it could be kick-ass fresh looking radioactive green stinkin to high hell, but if the person managed to agitate the trics of the bud (to make kif) it wont be very potent......gotta take a toke of the bud....wait a minute....then decide if you think it is worth it

trics are those stocky mushrooms that are apparent under a magnafying glass.
I think a paintshaker would be great for removeing the trics from dried then frozen buds

One of the few strains you can tell what it is by smell and look is blueberry. Mostly because blueberry smells just like fruity berries and grassy-like weed. You cant really tell what strain a bud comes from just by looking or smelling it..but you can determine rather it's a dominant Sativa or Indica strain or if it's a hybrid by how your high feels.

i used to use a evaporative cooler. placed my grinder right on top b4 work. :smokin:
Sativa-
A sativa strain normally has beigger leaves, larger leaves and more fingers on the plant. The buds come in a light green, i supose, grass green colour and are normally quite small buds, although some sativas have very big buds [ Individual.]
Sativa normally gives you a cerebal high, which is being high in your head, but your body feels normal.
It's always a good'un to smoke at party's
Indica-
Indica varieties are my personal favourites. I love em.
They normally have smaller leaves, thicker fingers on the leaves and tend to be small bushier plants than the sativa. A predominant indica strain will normall be a darker green colour. The high is really a high alone, its also accompanied by a body stone. [?Couch lock]
It's an all over body fuck, and this is what makes you mong out.
Cross's-
Crosses between indica and sativa are very nice for realxing while still having some control over your bodies actions. It's hard to find a strain that display's sativa and indica charactureistics in there best light, but there are some around that do just that.
Body stone from sativa-
Ok, as i put up there, the high from a sativa can be played with so it gives a body stone like the indica.
To do this you'll grow the plant to maturity [including budding] and when the trichomes are at the optimum levels of THC and cannabinols instead of harvesting, you leave it a while longer, so that more of the ready THC breaks down into cannabinols and its the cannabinols that give you a body stone.
I can almost guarentee you wont be able to ID strains, not many people, if any, can, simply because there are SO damn many. Alot look the same, have the same smell, bud structure and high, so its very difficult.
Just enjoy the bud you get, and analyse it. That way you'll know what to expect, weather it be an indica stone or a sativa uppy cerebal high.
Enjoy your bud.
