sorry for the lack of clarity in my last post

150 watts each....... for a total of 300 to 600 watts... they don not give off very much heat.. and if/when they touch your leaves they only burn the very small area they have touched... you can harvest 3 ounces from 1 very small plant using this bulbs.... : ) There are pictures in this "basic grow section"

They are actaually 42 watt bulbs but they give off "150 watt" of light...

They sell them at Homedepot and wall mart for 5-12 dollars depending on where you live...

Wall mart sells a work light fixture for 5.47 that holds these lights perfectly..

congrats on yur lady...
and you are smart to flower her when she is small..

Hey man, what kind of bulbs are you talking about because I have a wal-mart and a home depot near to me. A 42 watt bulb that gives off 150watts of light? Thats amazing to me, I could budget atleast 30 of these babys. This quote was taken from an earlier thread I hope you remember:p

i'd post a pic for you but I am not at my HQ now...

there is a thread in the basic grow section... something like...

this is what a healthy 2 week old plant looks like

in that thread I posted some pics.. that will interest you...

Not that trivium asked, but you can actually buy 200watt cfl's now, and they are not all necessarily corkscrew, but..kmowmy was righton...they make 42 and 45 watt cfl's that give out 150watts...go look at Bobbongs threads...he has them all over the place lw

here you go trivium...I built this last year...I have better piks, but I think it will answer your question...peace lw:)

what I tried to show in piks were 42w and 45w cfl's are both rated at 150watts output...If you make a bank like this...it ='s 600watts...

GK...that was an empty bubbler awaiting the cuttings i took for the thread cloning directly to hydroton bubbler...or something like that. Bottom left in pik, Is my 1st little bubble cloner, thread was clones in 10 days/homemade bubbler.

I don't grow using these...I use them for seedlings and cloning...remember I have the big 1000w horti and a couple 1000w red MH's, I have been early vegging under 250hps, just to see what difference was, but I use fluoros exclusively for cuttings and seedlings...tubes and cfl's

I will find the 200 and 150w cfls for ya...Actually you know harddon used 125w cfl's with the red/blue spectrum.

be back, when i find the link for you guy's

http://www.bghydro.com/BGH/items.asp?Cc=IF&iTpStatus=0&Tp=&Bc=

these are up to 150w...that ='s about 500watts

I couldn't find link...but, here is page out of Hydrofarm catalog...via Growco

I think there is a company that makes these also, but I couldn't find link...last year Harddon sent me a link, but it was for 125w cfl's...they are on this page too.

waiting on piks...I only downsized pik to 2mb, so it takes 2-3 times as long to upload. a tidbit for sharing info/piks: downsize you piks to 640x480 or in that area of size and you will find they upload 2-3 times faster and pop-up alot faster when someone links to view them.

peace

Hey latewood I was looking at the earlier guys site 1000bulbs.com and I came across these babies.

http://www.1000bulbs.com/products.php?cat=200-Watt-Compact-Fluorescent-Light-Bulb

200w Compact fluorecent
850w Incandescent Equal

Or do you think Im better off purchasing 5-6 of these.

http://www.1000bulbs.com/products.php?cat=32-Watt-Compact-Fluorescent-Light-Bulb

Either that or fish around for me:)http://www.1000bulbs.com/category.php?category=2086

awesome...the only thing is bghydro is selling hydrofarm, a brand light you can trust. I couldn't find the price...so i would say, during business hours tomorrow, I would call BGhydro, and ask them how much are the 200w hydrofarm daylight spectrum cfl's...I think it's will be less than the one @1000bulbs, but good find anyway. lw

hey latewood, whats up, quick question. I got 3 of thoughs 125watt daytime CFL's, would this be enough to veg at least 8 plants total or do you recommend I pick up one more? Thanks, oh and congrats being modded8)

I think that would work...How big is room

like this:
legend: x=plant, capital I=cfl
..I I I

Of course it would set-up a little different...sounds cool, remember if you close that grow space in...These lights actualy do put out a decent amount of heat, so have your fans, and exhaust system set-up. hope this helps.

I think people would be way better off to buy a real light like this.
Then making them.
These are meant for growing.

thanks for the link latewood.. thats what I thought you were talking about... those bulbs are $50 ,, correct....

with the 42 watt bulbs from home depot or walmart.. anybody can start growing and simply expand their grow by adding lights at their convience and budget capabilities..

on the other hand.. if ONE were to surrounded a plant with 4-8 of these 200 watt monsters... the yield would be tremendous... surley more than any 400 watt hps..

I have envirolites.
They make veg and flowering bulbs @ 125watt and 200watt Thet are just huge kickass cfls. They seem good if u can't handle much heat or are on a buget.
They are also made where i live so i could go direct and get them even cheaper, unfortunatly they realised they were loosing to much cash like that and i can't go direct anymore.
Here is there site. http://www.envirolites.co.uk/

I was just meaning if you have the cash. And your serious. Then you would be better off.
But like KNome said. If your just starting out.
Thats different.
Also those big ones are good for heat problems.
They don't get that hot.
Still need some ventelation though.

Hey jdog. Im not just starting out, if I purchased these wich Im seriously considering I would purchase 4-5 of these 200w Incadecent fluoros. Im moving into a new home in 4-6 weeks here so Im going to be growing big. Would you guys recommend those 200w that put out 850w each? This pot is going to be sold so I want it to the top of the line.

Im also working with a local mate on this.

Sorry, I have to beg out...I do not and can not take part in any illegal enterprise. Now that you have clearly stated your intention's of commercial growing, I can no longer help you. I am really sorry, I like you, but if you were in the Hydro store, you would've just got kicked out.

I have to go on the assumption that people I help are MMJ patients, even though this might seem ignorant. Don't take offense, please, and understand why I have to take this stand...goodluck in your growing enterprise.

peace, woody

But I will say this.
You can't grow better weed ,then weed grown with a 600 -1000 watt hps.
With an air cooled hood.
