Plumber & Brick Layer Salaries

Hi all i just wondered normally which trade gets paid more? A Plumber or Brick Layer?

I did brick laying for a very short period. It paid 20/hour starting but it sucked ass. One guy i was workin with had been doin it for 4+ years and he was gettin paid 45/hour

I dont think plumbers make more but I know that eventually they do get commision for each job so if you do a 10k setup then you get a grand in just commisions.

Plumer's can make a very nice bit of money...

If you finish an apprenticeship, you can make your own business, at which point, you can decide on a call out charge.

I mean... Take this, its Christmas, someone's pipe has burst, and they need you to come out... Well its Christmas day, so you can charge what ever you like.

Seriously, Plumbing is a very well paying job, VERY well paying.

My mates brother deals and hes doing a brick laying course in college i think.

But remember, an appenticeship is not something you can just quit... You really gotta want to do the job.

i worked as a laborer for a high end residentail/ commercial masonry company. i made 9 bucks an hour. The apprentices made about 13-16 an hour and they could just lay brick on the line not do any corners or anything that is halfway difficult. the topdoggs made 25-35 dollars an hour depending on how long they had been doing it(over 10 years anyway)

depends on where your from, I do heating and a/c, its cool I work all year round, masons on the other hand, little or no work in states with winter I leave the job and the masons are still there laying brick. Money matters, but so do working conditions, alot more opportunities for good plumbers in my opinion, Good luck which ever way you go
