Why do you smoke weed?

For those that smoke weed. Just out of curiousity, what is your reason? Like, if someone was to go up to you and ask you, WHY DO YOU SMOKE WEED?

I would tell them " I smoke marijuana as a safe alternative to deadly,dangerous,addicting,prescription drugs,because I'm 100% disabled,with chronic and severe pain and muscle spasms."

I recently had the opportunity to do so,to 6 narcotics task force fellers,one postal inspector and an un-named and un-identified fed,who was sitting on my couch next to me,asking me that very question..lol. It was standing-room only in my little old trailer and i had their complete attention..lol. I was so insistent,that the lead investigator actually put that in his report..that I "smoke marijuana,to relieve my back pain".

What was my 'crime' ? I was guilty of recieving very small gifts of compassion,in the mail..from other medical marijuana patients. Need-less to say..I now turn down such gifts.

You see,with medical marijuana,I can eliminate the dangerous prescription drugs,but society insists that I take em and suffer from their ill side-effects and such.

So..if someone ever asks me that question,they'll git one heck of an answer,from me !:thumbsup:

I smoke weed because 1: There are noticeable after effects on me.2:Its as cheap as chips compared to alcohol 3: I can happily party by myself if necessary 4:I have never experienced violence among smokers 5:I've never had a negative experience after lighting up

Because it makes me see the world in a different way. Music is more crisp, food is sensational, and I can let my mind wander when I sit down to write. If there's a weed drought (like there is in town right now) I get a little disappointed, but I'm not giving head in the alley for it.

Not only are you having fun, but you are also learning for yourself about the benefits and risks. Someday you may have a medical condition and society/doctors/government will be telling you that MJ is evil, illegal and can't help. At that point, you'll know the truth and will be able to make an informed decision.

I smoke weed to ease stress and encourage relaxation. I smoke weed to calm my extremely high-strung nature and lighten up. I smoke weed to raise my low blood pressure and lower my high blood sugar. I smoke weed to effectively manage my bipolar disorder and chemical depression (however I do also take a mild antidepressant as well.) I love the way it feels, looks, tastes and smells. It is the surefire antidote to a crappy day and can raise my bad mood faster than anything else. It allows me to be a more patient, creative person and more interactive and loving to those around me.

I'm with you 100% on the relief of pain Torog. It's a lifesaver to hundreds of thousands of us who couldn't function due to chronic pain. I can get all the Vicodin, Percocet, etc, from my doctor that I could possibly stand to take, and I get very, very little relief from my pain. But just a few tokes and I get instant, although temporary, relief. Since my doctors say I'll never live without pain, temporary relief keeps me off of disability, and keeps me from having to sponge off of the taxes of others to support me. I don't even really think about the high at this stage of life, just relief from pain, and release from stress caused by pain.

I smoke weed because it relaxes me after a day in work or uni, and I can really unwind. It puts me in a better mood. It makes food taste so much nicer, makes music sound better and more interesting (I'm not really that enthususiastic about music generally, but I can really get into it when I'm stoned) and makes funny things funnier! It's also a nice way to chill out in a group, and we always come up with random things to talk about and do.

Well, basically I smoke for some of the same reasons that someone may want to drink a brew or two at the end of a day...to take the edge off, to relax, to unwind.

I smoke every friday to relieve the stress of the week. I can relax 100%.

I used to go to the park and get absolutely pissed every week. Now I get stoned and don't feel rotton all through saturday.

I also blaze because I can appreciate music so much more. I sit back and let the music take over me.

To relax, it also helped me through depression/anxiety issues a few years back.
I enjoy everything alot more, think alot more and generally have a much better day when im high :)

Hmm.

Well. I know when I smoke the filters or blocks that are normally up come down and I experience things in a different mind state, especially at night when I am alone and there are no distractions to my thoughts.

Its not that the mj creates an illusion or a lie, because when I am not high the things I noticed when I am high are still true, and I ask myself why didnt I notice these things when not high? Mostly things of a spiritual nature.

So in a way I see it as a way to connect to the non-physical reality of this world that is often clouded, fogged or conditioned into us by our single dimensional way of experiencing things.

Consciousness exists on many levels within the universe.

I think it unlocks those intuitutive abilitites to connect with non-physical reality. It is reality on another dimension that we are conditioned to ignore.

I smoke for other reasons as well.
