i was wondering if there are timers that can switch on/off lights after a certain amount of time so i can work at day without having to worry about my plants when they're flowering (not quite yet....) or are they only available on certain lights? if so where are they available at and aroudn how much?

thnx.s12.

WalMart, etc. In the electical dept. get one that's correctly rated to handle the watts your pushing through it. If you go too cheap it can catch fire. A decent one will handle 1200 watts and they go for around 5 to 8 dollars.

Hi s12 the timers work exellent if you buy a proper one. I'll post a pic of a digital timer, thought this is only for europe cause i think in US you have different electric in/outputs but i hope this will give you an idea of what to look for. For me it works perfect, never have to worry about lights anymore.;)

Yes that's close. Just make sure it will handle your watts. If you have alot that comes on at the same time like say 3 or 4 1000HPS. Slowes or home depot has timers for water heaters and such. You have to get some wire and male ,female ends to put on the wire. Maybe some thing for electriction. You should be able to find a small one that will work. Just tell them your going on vacation and want your lights to come on at night to look like some one is there.

I HAD A GREAT DIGITAL,,, BUT WHEN THE POWER WENT OUT FOR 1 MINUTE,,, IT NEVER RE-SET IT'S SELF. I NOW USE ONLY THE DIAL TIMERS.

AND I ALSO HAVE A TIMER ON A POWER SWITCH. FROM HOME DEPOT. I CAN RUN 5 DIFFERENT ITEMS ON THE SAME TIME,, AND ALSO 5 ITEMS,, NON TIMED. GREAT ITEM.

I used one like Mobays and they have little clips that set set in for the time, just make sure you play with it and make sure you know what clip turns it on and what turns it off, then just leave it and watch it work, if you get one without a ground then just use a strip of outlets that has the switch on it, that'll work too. Make sure you don't overload it though!
