psychemedics hair test..

I recently took a hair test that will be analyzed by psychemedics labs.. The test was administered on May 31 using some leg hairs (bald and otherwise hairless). I have abstained from smoking since Feb 13 ( a full 3 months and 2 weeks clean). what are my chances of passing this test?

I'm thinking you might be okay, I'm gonna say you're prolly okay....I think the hair test is 90 days, but don't quote me on that. You may have just passed by the hair on your shinny shin shin!

i have heard that your hair has a permanent memory, so they will show anything that you have done since the hair was grown, but don't quote me on that either

Oh, btw, .5 ng/ml just means .5 nanograms of cannabinoid metabolities per millilitter of blood, I think.

I've also heard that hair can have up to a 10 year memory, but I think with the hair tests they use now its 90 days, again, I'm not sure, I hope you're alright, I think you might be, but I ain't too sure. I'm assuming that if the cutoff is .5 ng than your hair wouldn't have a permanent memory, because if it did they would just say, "Any metabolites found, you fail. Period." not "If its less than .5 you pass."

Btw, just FYI.... .5 is the standard now, it usually is written as .50, but the point is is that to put that in perspective, when I got drug tested for court, my level was .647 or something and after two or three weeks it went down to .212. I smoked pretty much every day before that, but that was a urinalysis.
I still think you should be fine.

and I passed. Those test are foolish. I am sure I got lucky. But whatever, I PASSED!

I hear that the cut off level is .5 ng/ml..what does this actually mean in terms of consumption. If I hadn't smoked for 3 months and 2 weeks prior to the test what kind of number should I have in terms of ng/ml. Thanks for the help...

That means that a detectable level of THC metabolites in hair is 1/2 of a nanogram per milliliter. A nanogram is a billionth of a gram. Milli=thousandth=.001
micro=millionth=.000001
nano=billionth=.000000001
In other words they can detect 1/2 of a billionth of a gram per thousandth of a liter....pretty good test, I'd say!
Essentially, it means that hair does in fact have a permanent memory. :(
The good news is that leg hairs are short and ALL hair is replaced on a reguar basis. If 3.5 months is enough time to clear THC from your leg hair would be pretty tough to say. Just to be on the safe side I'd wax my entire body before the test. You said you were already bald and basically hairless, right? Tell them it's a genetic anomoly and they are welcome to your blood, pee saliva instead.(These are all completely clear after 3.5 months away from even heavy smoking.)
