Ok i have a quick question about cloning. Is it better to clone while the plant is in veg? i know if you clone during flower you have to revert back to veg cycle which causes stress, etc. and it takes longer to root..correct?? When do most of you guys clone?? during veg or flower..any info on this would be great.....

Clone while in Veg, then fast flower one clone, to see if the mother plant is male or female..:)

i normally clone the day before i go 12/12 , i take 4 clones from each plant , just to make sure they take . my clones nearly always take , i keep the strongest 8 clones for new mums and flower the rest .

IF you start from non fem seed you start 4 or 5 And then take one from each. Like PaRanoia said. Take out the males and you have tons of clones from veg only no stress.

I take about six branches off the bottoms of my plants the day before I flip them to 12/12. I take clones from my branches and put them in Jiffy 7. I put 40 clones in a tray and I put domes on them and dont touch them for about 6 days. I then prop the domes up with 2 inch screws and spray them about 2 to 3 times a day with str8 ph'd water. They are usually ready to plant on day 10. This works great for me. I lose maybe 10 clones out of 500.

No need, the easiest thing to do is preflower the mother, then put it back in veg and get all your clones from that. Then you know your growing females...

That's what almost everyone does anyway.

Well i would clone during veg but i have a problem...my ladies are not wide. They look good and have alternating nodes but from what i know about cloning, i would only be able to clone the tops...i say this b.c you can only clone from the tops, and the 2 sets of new branchs that grow out of each node , correct?? If i am right the new branches are just forming and are very small, to small to cut...Also two have already shown sex and they are still in veg. Here is a pic to show you what all the jumble is about...lol

SeedlessOne, Pinch the very top out so as to promote side branching. You might have to top the upper branches afew times to get the side branches to come out good. I have a strawberry cough that just showed a few white hairs. It looks almost like yours. I just need to top it. When the side branches come out wait till you have a good bit more than 2 sets of leaves then take a cutting. In the end you will have a mom that has loads of cuttings to take.Shorter plants that are close internoids take longer but will get there.
This is a method from phototron to promote as many bud sites as possible but it works better for getting loads of cuttings.
