Thats how mine is, they do turn green later (mine, dunno about urs). I'd say it's nothing to worry about unless they stay purple. Maybe it's just not getting the nutes in time. I think I had ph problem for the past week, so maybe thats what was wrong with mine. Had alot of leaves dying too, but all the new ones were fine.

Purple stems is very common. Its a strain related trait. Its definatly not a problem. Just keep doin what your doin. Check your pH often. Keep it nuetral, but let it rise a little sometimes.
In my outdoor crop last summer here in Michigan, all my plants had purple stems. The purple stems only extended from the leaves to the branches. Some of them turned green, some stayed purple. Never affected the plant at all. As for why a cannabis plant would do something like that, i have no idea. But its beautiful thats fo sho. :D
One thing tho. I think i see tinfoil in that picture. If your using tin foil and have over 200watts pumping to your plant your not only gonna burn your leaves but yur also losing a lot of light. Tin foil deflects a lot of light because of all the "foils", or the creases, in many different directions. These creases also concentrate light to a point where it will slowly burn the leaves of a plant. I suggest gettin rid of the tin foil. Use some Mylar or even cardboard cut outs around the bottom of the plant painted flat white.
A buddy of mine who grows indoors all year round does that. He cuts out a big piece of card board. Then cuts out holes roughly the same size as all the pots. Then, he paints it white. Once the plants grow up out of the soil and past the cardboard, the bottom of the leaves will recieve a nice healthy amount of light that gets reflected from the white paint.

not that this is your problem (but it may be) and purple stems can be strain related as others have noted above, but they can also be an indicator of a nitrogen deficiency. worth checking into anyway. i have noticed purple stems in white widow when a nitrogen difeciency was out of the realm of possibility...good luck.

looking more and more like a lack of nitrogen. what NPK are you using with your ferts?

i once came across a purple leafed and bud cannabis plant, it was the first to flower out of all but was from the same batch of seeds i was given - but obviously must of bin mixed up seedz. and the leaves seemed to have this weird bend to them, like they'd have a arch from the middle and they'd bend inwards or outwards and you could even change it yourself by bendin the middle of da leaf. i neva knew what kind it was, but i came to a conclusion of either dutch passion or purple widow, god knowz.

If you had a nitrogen deficiency, the stems would be a reddish color. The purple color is strain indicative not a nutrient indicator.
