Why do we feel the need to protect our belongings while we rest? That's an inane question and, really, depends on the environment. But answer the poll question.

ehh, most of the time, my door is shut.

But it's not because I want to protect anything, it's just that my room is totally dark with it shut, and that's how I like to sleep.

Plus, I mean, come on, ghosts could be outside my door waiting to come in.

I sleep with my door closed and locked, with earplugs in, because I get my best sleep with total sensory deprivation. I feel the closed door is more a matter of feeling secure since I'm cut off and wouldn't know if somebody came in.

I do

Few weeks ago there were a string of robberies in which the robber broke in, tied everyone up, and stole a bunch of shit. I think in one of them he did something to the wife sexually. Its just the way things are, you arent even safe in your own home...

I do it cuz it cuts off the morning sun, so I get to sleep in longer. I also like to wank too.

I refuse to have my front door unlocked at any time, mainly because we live in a shared access building comprised of three flats which just happens to be next to a brothel. I have no idea who the people in one of the other flats are, and we get a few drunk blokes in who wanted the brothel and got the wrong building.

I also sleep with my bedroom door shut, although I'm not really sure why, as it's now a subconscious action to shut it. It might well be from when I was young, and had a bad habit of having very realistic nightmares and then waking up and seeing things in the shadows. If the bedroom door was open as well then my imagination would fancy various bad things lurking in the hallway, and if it was shut there was always the possibility they couldn't come in.

NO...reasons: Safety(home door) + Privacy(my room door)...

If you've, accidentally, left your door unlocked, and realize that you were rather comfortable with it, then you should answer "I have", even if you continue to lock your door, every night.

My door let's in air if I don't bolt it.
