ok so ventilation/odor control, ive been doing some brainstorming...
I think im going to buy a computer fan... and connect a 3 in hose from the exhaust of the fan to a hole in my cabinet. That should successfuly suck alot of heat out and expell it into my room. Only prob is when the plant is flowering my room is gonna reek.
So im going to sharper image and buying one of those desk size Ionic Breeze (~50$) and stick it inside.
Plus, im gonna tape some dryer sheets up to the hole so the exhaust gets filtered before coming out into the room.
Thoughts?

You need a bigger fan unless it a very small space. I remember some talk of if the ionics are good for plants or not. You might want to do a search on it. What strain are you growing ? My northern lights hardly had any smell when growing. Do a search on carbon filters I think some one made one cheap that worked good. I might be more help but there is no one within 100 yards of my grow room

I agree with LOC computer fans will not move enough air to push it out past about 24" of vent pipe. You may be better off using a larger vent pipe then the computer fan just to reduce the backpressure. I still don't think it will work worth a dam but that will at least give you a better chance of the little fan doing you any good.
Active carbon scrubbers are the very best way to deal with odor from growing and flowering plants.

well... the cabinet is extremely small. What if i didn't use a hose and i just bolted the fan right up to the hole? i could also put a little desk fan inside also.
Any 1 know anything about ionic breeze or similar products? Will it work for the odor and is it harmful to the plant?

oh yea... and do you think that with some sort of ventilation... that dryer sheets will take the smell out of the air if it is ventilated thru the sheets?

i dont think it would
your best bet is to get some BBQ charcoal and crush it up a bit then sandwich that between 2 peices of net curtain
sort of make a cushion cover out of the net curtain and fill it withthe charcoal that ya crushed
that would be better than the dryer sheets
cheers all :)

I do have info on the ionic type air purifiers.. there is a reason nobody uses them in hydroponics.. the negative ions destroy all taste and flavor in the fruit.. would bet it would do the same to bud.. the guy at the hydro shop told me that. Now I have an ionic air purifier in my bathroom :)
Good idea though.. and I like that charcoal idea.. I have a bunch of charcoal sitting around here and my roomate with the grill moved out.
I use fans for every things in my cab: extraction, intraction, ventilation, but i dont use any ducting. PC fan dont give enough pressure to extract through a duct longer than 1-2ft.
I made my own carbon filters. I have one attached to one 12cm fan extracting, but the filter low largely the flow from the fan. I needed to put an aditional fan extracting (i use 220w of CFLs).
But you can made a carbon filter and put it out the cab, with a fan. As larger the carbon surface and thickness, larger the odor absortion. And as slower the air passes throught the carbon, the larger odor absortion. It wont work as well as a carbon filter in the extraction, but reduces smell a lot.

I put two of these: http://www.1000bulbs.com/product.php?product=9135
in my 2'x4'x7' cabinet, and believe it or not, they work great ... one possible negative, depending on how you're arranged, it is also a 1600 lumen, warm spectrum light, so when the lights go off, so would the ionizer ... P.S. ... NO negative effect on my girls, whatsoever ...

damn reaper GREAT find! thats the first time ive seen one of those... 11$ is pennies for something like that... its almost like CFLs were created for the broke kid trying to grow pot
