I got an el-chepo hydroponic kit that came with dyna grow and dyna bloom nutes in repackaged bottles.. I did a little looking and it appears they are regular ferts that "can be used for hydro too"

I have outside dirt plants that are about 200% the size of the indoor plants growing on these nutes with ample light and good conditions. Could it be poor nutes? Any one have expierence with dyna grow and bloom for hydro only? I dont like the "all in one" type nutes because I dont think it works like that.

Any suggestions? This little hobby is sucking me dry! I have had to buy and rebuy so many things because i tried to cut costs.. Im starting to realize i should have bought the good stuff at first.. would have saved a ton of money in the long run.

Your right, in the long run you can save if only you knew first. I got some with my little hydro 6 plant units. It does just fine for vegging, not to strong. The plants seem to love it. Once past seedlings you can bring up the PPM's. The bloom did OK but I didn't know any better and was just starting to understand some of the add ons to bloom. I ended up mixing them both for veg till I used dynagro up.

Do you have your metters for PH and ( EC or TDS ) or combo that does both ? They are most important.
Inside and outside are 2 different worlds. Mine did OK but the dynagro soon ran out. A good thing.
Most use GH (General Hydroponics ) 3 part. Grow, Micro and Bloom.
This is what I just used on the papaya.
GH 3 part mix for veg, calmag+, B-52.
For flowering, Lucas formula GH, micro and bloom to the PPM's I wanted. started with 800 and went to 1200. With calmag+, B-52, Bud Blood ( for first week of flower ) and then Big Bud for the rest of the grow. There are many others. I tried not to go overboard but they were highly recomended. Later when they run out I may try some others that are supposed to be very good. I'm kind of run dry too. Remember to use RO or distilled water only. Then add back just what you need, like the calmag and b-52.
What size light are you using and what kind of ventilation ? Good I hope ?
The only thing left for me is co2 and I just don't have the bucks right now.
Once you get some return you won't feel so sucked dry. It pays off in the long run. I don't have a green thumb like some but if I can do it so can anyone almost. My brother sucks ass at hydro, HA HA HA HA. LOL. But that's another story.
Try General Hydroponics 3 part or AN they are the same. If you have more questions keep them coming, we all help here and if I tell you something stupid the big guy's will let you know quick and straighten me out. That's OK I learn too. I will have more pic's tonight on the PAPAYA thread. I made my pixels too high and it takes along time to download. Show us some pic's in and outside. We like pic's it tells the whole story.

I just took a big hammer to my digital camera a couple weeks ago (it had been acting flaky for a while.. kept losing VERY important pictures).. I have another one packed up somewhere that would be good enough for this in my storage unit.. will try and get it in a week or two.

I am aiming at the GH line next time I go into the city near me with an indoor garden center. My ebay quota is getting a little suspicious.. I do have TDS meter and ph kit (saving up for that ph meter that can be used to auto-dose ph.. cuz checking ph BLOWS)..

As far as calmag and B52 I picked Superthrive and Epsom salts.. pretty sure its pretty close to the same effects. I use only 5ppm R.O. water that I get from a good machine outside of the grocery store a couple blocks from my house around 3am in the morning when the store is closed and nobody is there to notice that I am showing up every few days with a dozen milk jugs to refill :)

The indoor garden shop in my nearest big city for some dumb reason sold me chemicals for a ebb and flow system but all I have are bubblers and drip.. initially the chems fried everything cuz they were way too strong, then I got the dynagro in with the drip system.. I am at 175ppm dyna grow with some two week old babies in the drip system (doing decent) and I upped the bubbler system (homemade 3 & 5 gal bucket style) to 1100ppm with 3/4 ebb and flow chems and 1/4 dyna bloom yesterday.. I have non-MJ plants in that one.. my original "get to know hydroponics" project.. but they really took off in the last 24 hrs.. I had started one seedling in the dynagro drip and it isnt looking too good.. less than half the size of the two smaller ones that I just fed water for the first two weeks.. it was much better just feeding ph balanced water for the first couple of weeks.. and now I know!

Light = 1500 lumens of mostly 6500k cfl's
Vents = 1 intake fan plus 1 50 cfm exaust fan.. for a small cabinet

was toying with CO2 (see thread in "basic growing" about catalitic heaters) but the CO2 meter I ordered was DOA.

Generally, when I find a new hobby, I tend to screw things up worse than anyone in the beginning.. I mean, I invent new ways to screw things up.. but, in not too long, I get the hang of it and start kickin ass.. If the bubbler system plants keep up the grow rate they have had in the last 24hrs I will finally win my first battle with hydroponics!

Your getting man, The seedling can't take nutes for awhile. 3 weeks or so. No co2 in the house where you live, you know it's heavier than air and can kill you. Ebb and flow or DWC bubblers and drip are all the same nutes. What kind are they ? You got things going, superthrive and epson yea. If yor going to stay with it keep adding lights. The more the better. Let us know about pic's.

Its called "Supernatural" Brand "Gro Aqua" from "Rapidgrow Industries Inc." and this website is listed: http://www.supernaturalbrand.com

I want to borrow a camera from a friend but I have these concerns that I mess up deleting the pics or something.. this is a first time for me and I am pretty paranoid.. covering my ass as much as possible.. I didnt even post anything on this board for the longest time.. BTW.. how safe is it to post here? Are the feds recording IP addresses and breaking down doors if people post pics?

On the CO2, I know you can survive a super high concentration. Our air is swapped out constantly and in the grow room there would only be a couple cubic feet a day released.. it shouldnt hurt anybody.. right?? I mean I have set here with the catalitic heater going in my room all day and night with no ventilation and didnt have any problems.

I have so many lights right now its stupid.. but some will be moved into the bloom room when the plants get that far along. I will stay with it as long as it is safe and when I am done (hopefully many crops from now) I can sell it all right back on ebay anyways :)

I just got a 1000 watt hps light/ballast setup that was sold in a police auction as siezed goods for $40.. I figure I can give it a real good home and put it back to good use.. ordered the hortilux eye for it as well.

Oh, and I just put a ultrasonic mister in my chem tank under the plants.. I know those things have had mixed reviews but I figured it was worth a shot.

Ultrasonic mister , tha'ts cool. A ballast for 40 , what a deal. You will like the results you get with the hortilux also, most impressive. Sounds like you know your co2, That's good , just some peeps don't know much about it. I never heard of supernatural, but it should be ok just watch your PPM's till you run out then get what you want.
I don't think the feds are really worried about the small timers. They want the big stuff. Big growers making lots of money they can take. I just saw a news show where I can get 6000 bogus viagra a day from China for cheap and sell to wholesellers that get them in the pharmacies. Bogus drugs. Now you can't trust the pharmacies. If you think your high dollar meds are not working have them checked.
I have been here since July 2005, didn't want to post pic's at first, Must of read for months before that . Then said to hell with it. I order seed from UK, wife don't like it.Oh well. Be comfortable with it, if you don't want to don't. You got it going sounds like you just need some beans. Let us know how it's going. Some one wanted to do a veggie section for anything hydro that's not MJ. I don't know if they started it yet.
Did you see my papaya pic's ? It's hard to get good pic's with lights on or off. Good luck.

i saw them.. they are AWSOME.. putting together my 6x6 room now and I too recently picked up a package from the UK at my local post office.. customs forms said it was for "table ornaments" :)
