I'm going to Amsterdam.

I'm booking the flight for Nov. 1st and I was wondering if anybody had been to Amsterdam, who could share some insight / experience? I plan on smoking a 5 gram spliff as soon as possible, when i get off the plane. I would like this to be 5 grams of the best dank I have ever experienced, in a relaxed, laid-back atmosphere. So anybody going to be in the 'dam from Nov. 1st to the 10th? I'm looking for a local possibly, who would like to enjoy the 5 gram spliff with me... maybe some of Mother's Finest? :) heh heh, it will be a dream come true. i plan on taking a 30 day break from smoking before i depart, that way my jet-lagged ass will black out upon the smoking of the spliff.... oh yes this is my grim plan :)

As for lodging, I'm looking for the bare essentials; if anyone would be so gracious as to let me sleep on an old mattress under a tarp, i'd be happy haha.. but realistically, i would just need a place to crash during the nighttime hours, so i'm thinking about a hostel. the cheapest hostel, just a bed, alarm clock, and shower / toilet would be fine.

how much is the weed in Amsterdam?? which hostels are cheap?? what's the average price? do share your stories of Amsterdam (if you can remember them) and get back to me...

I agree. Don't take a break. You've gotta be like those competetive eaters, practise before the big match. Don't go dieting a month before the hot dog eating contest.

Have ya seen the movie "Hostel" yet ? If not-you should...it starts out with younguns like you,going to Amsterdam..with a scene at a cannabis cafe,basically showin the place to be filled with younguns that ain't ever been to one of them cafes and being in-experienced with such stout marijuana. Their in-experience with euro culture and the relaxed nature of sexual activity over there,eventually leads them down a very dark path.

Just be careful and don't wander the streets too stoned or drunk,or you may find yerself gittin rolled..or worse.

Yea, as with any country, use caution when checking out a new place. I'm sure most of the people you meet with be super nice, but like anywhere theres allways a nutter around somewhere. Don't go missing on us. Oh and on a different note, remember to be a good tourist, if your american try and go the extra friendly step (like it or not you're representing us on a certain level). Seems like a lot of people hate or look down on us, so try and show them that we're really not that bad :D .

Thanx for yer advice,I should have added the same advice,but I was afeard that it would be too much to ask a youngun to be on good behaviour..lol. The fellers in that movie,acted in the worst possible way,goin around cussin and disrespecting another culture and gave Americans a bad name with their behaviour. Plus,he needs to be mindful,that every American in a foreign land,is now a potential target of muslim jihadists.

hey everyone, thanks for your replies. i don't think it will be much of a problem getting along with the locals.. in fact i am pretty sure i could blend in well. i'm generally very polite and open-minded. i'm not worried about the muslim jihadist at all though, especially in amsterdam. If it were israel , that would be a different story.

regarding the 5 gram spliff, i think i probably could smoke the whole 5 grams in one sitting. i mean i would be catatonic (literately) upon finishing it but c'est la vie.

AZ- Since you are going to Amsterdam, please try the 5 gram spliff theory for yourself and post your results :)

hahaha I will unboubtedly smoke a FAT spliff over there....lol dont know if I could manage a 5g spliff though, Im not used to smoking green so I can imagine it kicking my ass, lol I dont even think we could get through it between 3 of us! lol
