so, i finally managed to get arrested, and DAMN did i get arrested. on graduation night. see, me and a bunch of my friends went to this girl bianca's house. this kid ben had mad drugs on him, like opium and an entire sheet of acid. so naturally we were all tripping balls, and me bianca and my other friend matt decided to go out in the parkinglot (at around 130) to smoke some opium. we were all tripping sack, btw. anyway we were in matt's car when some lady pulled in right next to us. we thought it was sketchy so we pulled out and tried to leave the apartment parking lot when we saw a po driving around. matt flipped out and tried to back the car up but he was fucked up and backed it up all over the lawn and hit a sign and shit. we sped back to our parking space but the cops were waiting for us. apparently, matt had stolen his mom's BMW and she reported it stolen. so because it was a stolen vehicle, they had the right to search it. they also searched me, and i had my fucking bowl in my pocket with a ball of opium in it (luckily i tossed it aside without them noticing). so they took the bowl, started yelling "wheres the weed?" and we all said we didnt have any cause we didnt, but they obviously searched my bag in the car and found 2 hits of acid. this is where it gets retarded. they cuff me, stick me in the back, and yell "what are these pills?". i was tripping sack and said "it's fucking acid". DUMB. anyway, i ended up spending my graduation night in jail, and all the money i got is going to my lawyers.

so basicvally the question is....what am i looking at? i got charged with posession of class b and d substances, but i have no record and i'm 17. if i get a conviction, i lose all my financial aid. what do you guys think are my chances of getting continuation without a finding? any advice?

As for what'll happen, you never said what State you're in. Either you'll get probation as a minor, or they'll charge you as an adult and you'll get 25 to life. The real question is, who do you blame for your mistakes and what have you learned from them? Personal responsibility is a bitch...

Rule #1 - Never cop to ANYTHING without a lawyer being present, no matter how 'easy' the cops say it will make it for you.

You're young and no record, you'll need to ask about deferred adjudication or pretrial intervention.

It takes years for kids to realize this fact. I didn't realize it till it was almost too late. Every now and then I think to myself, I would probably be dead or in jail now if I hadn't changed my life dramatically the way I did.

Most of the time it takes a long tenure in jail or a near death experience for kids to change their destructive lifestyle.

To the orginal poster, stop hanging out with those kids. Take a good look at your life and where it's heading. Don't delude yourself. You are going nowhere quick... :(

Like everyone else said, you don't seem to be in the right position to be using drugs, any drugs, you need to focus on your future and set your life up and allow your lifestyle to fit in drugs, not the other way around. You should also continue to get your money together for a lawyer, sadly that's what it takes.

a) what makes me so ill-equipped to handle psychadelics in my life? im not a sketchy kid, i dont do hard drugs, just the ganj and occasional acid/shrooms/mescaline. i'm not a dealer, a coke fiend, or a crack whore. i smoke a lot of weed and i trip sometimes. do you guys really think 2 tabs of acid justify a tainted record for the rest of my life?

b) i was at a graduation party. the tabs were a gift from one of my college friends. why shouldnt i have taken them?

c) why are you so certain that i'm going "nowhere fast"? i'm starting school at Emerson college in the fall, have a great job at a record store and an upcoming internship at a major Boston radio station, the only thing preventing me from pursuing my dream is the ass-backwards legislature that equate 2 tabs of acid with an eight ball and think it's okay to withdraw financial aid from an otherwise good kid, therefore confining them to a life of minimum wage and oppression under the upper class. you guys should be fucking encouraging me and giving me straight facts on my chances in court, not judging me based on half-assed assumptions.

d) i don't think i'm the "heather who was so anti-drug", although i'm pretty outspoken about my distaste for meth, coke, and adderall. maybe you're referring to that? you should check out the logic behind my arguments before you make stupid accusations.

You might get off easy with a 5 grand fine. probly 100 hours of service. Probaition. Drug tests. Drug programs. Thats probly just minimal for a charge of acid maybe even more.

Lets just say your fine for each trip is 5 grand

He had A P O officer for 8 months. 2000 dollare fine 50 hours of service
Drug classes every week. His Po then told him he was a angry person and gave him 2 months of anger managment. He was busted at school with the 2 grams.



So over all was It really worth it.

Heather, you are not looking at the end of your life. Your lawyer needs to get in there and kick some ass with motions to suppress the statements if any and search of you, and lobby hard that you should not have to admit anything. I think "pretrial" probation is a possible outcome which you should be trying to get which will have no effect on your schooling or money.

Good luck getting financial aid unless its a private scholarship or something. Organizations like FAFSA want nothing to do with people convicted of 'possessing or selling a controlled substance,' even if it does end up in juvenile court

Are the lsd pills or blotter tabs? I suspect pills, and you had 2 of them, you should have hid them in your shoe or bra or something. it wasn't smart to leave them out in the car when you were obviously incapable of talking to police. If you would have done that, guess what? You would have been charged for simple paraphernalia, nothing big. But since they found the tiny acid hits, you are looking at... eh, certainly not 25 years. Nothing that harsh, but who knows... Probably probation. Use your good judgement next time.

This is the thing about teenagers these days. This is coming from an outside and inside perspective of someone who has seen many of these things. It may have seemed "fun" at the time, but Heather, why the FUCK would you take drugs from "some kid matt" at a party (the WORST place to do drugs- cops usually will be called!) smoke opium in public, and then get in a car?! Don't get me wrong, I don't think it's immoral and all, I encourage experimenting, but do it safely. You need to take ALL precautions, even if your friends think you're a dork, beause they will be the ones crying when they get the fines and jail time. I hope you get off, but learn a few lessons from this, geez... I'm glad I'm not a high schooler anymore; some kids can be really careless...
