I read somewhere that there are THC recptors in your brain, but it didnt really go into detail or explain this.

Im just curious. SO there are receptors in your brain that pick up the THC every time you smoke? Without these could you still get high?

Can someone explain this to me. Thanks. Is it even true?

I don't think there are actual THC receptor's in the brain but I do know that THC tickle's the brain receptor's Causing you to get high.

The beauty of THC though is that it ONLY tickles the brain receptors and doesn't ware them out like other drug's

Does it kill brain cells? I have heard that it does and that it doesnt. Anyone know the truth?

I think it only numb's them down for a while but I don't think pot cause's any long term harm.

But then that's only my opinion for every one person that think's this is true there will be another that doesn't.

I hate never knowing the truth. Everyone always has a different answer. But thanks for your input on this Aspinthion.

Oh and I read in a Medical Book about drugs that marijuana does not kill brain cells, but does alter them over time.

yep, the good old cannabinoid receptors. And like someone allready said, it doesnt kill the brain cells like alcohol, it only makes them go "dormant" untill you stop smoking for awhile.

I would say that any differant kind of lifestyle would have an effect on brain cells. We are all our own person and that's what make's the world go round.

Gs8778, thanks for those sites. I am a science nerd and that is cool to see the detail about the receptors and all that good stuff.

All I know is that some drugs shut down certain parts of your brain (to supress feelings like depressions etc) and some do the opposite, and turn on certain parts of your brain.. fuck knows what weed does though.. but someone I dont think there are actual 'THC receptors' in your brain that are specifically there for that reason, THC just does stuff to your brain, i dunno, i sucked at biology, i was always high.. ironic, eh?
